What if as a means of evading enemies, you had the ability to climb into boxes, cabinets, fridges, etc. and possibly ambushing them? You're in a building and there's 3 enemy troops about to "involuntarily offer" you a job as Swiss Cheese. There's nowhere else to run and you don't have the AP to let off a shot when an enemy troop enters. If you get an "INTERRUPT!", you're SOL because you still need 2 AP more to ready and fire your weapon. But wait, there's a kitchen right there with a set of drawers and a fridge big enough to climb into. Climb in the fridge and wait for the enemy to come in, possibly even lure them. Then jump out of the fridge and show the enemy troop that he's in the "hood" part of town now by way of a couple 5.56mm rounds. Then of course, make sure you have the AP to hide back inside the fridge before his buddies show up and don't blow your cover by leaving one standing. In doing so, you would be able to see an enemy in the same manner as you spot one without using AP before you are spotted, allowing a free shot to be taken. Maybe implement that behavior to the enemies too?
(It's already possible to climb through windows using the "jumping over fence/low wall" animation. Maybe something similar can be implemented with regards to opening/closing containers? Also, why can't enemies climb through windows either?)
