A guy on RPG Codex is trying to argue that JA2 is not a bad candidate for getting a (official) console port.

And he is going to lose that argument because JA is a terrible candidate for a console port, official or otherwise.

Hell, I'd argue that its among the worst possible candidates for a console port (Alongside Dwarf Fortress, Mount&Blade and every single Paradox game), and its not just a controller problem either : More than half of JA2's appeal by now is 1.13 and other mods (I don't know a single JA2 player who doesn't have 1.13 installed), so unless the mod was included into it (With monthly updates or something) it'd be literally worthless.

And as for the controller problem : I'm not saying it would be unplayable... But I actually am. I think strategy games require mouses or mouse-like controls to be even remotely enjoyable, and a keyboard is often necessary to make sure its not laborious to do anything (Remember that Civ game on the PS3? Remember how garbage it was?)

Bloody hell I'm drunk right now. Sorry if none of what I wrote makes sense! English not first language and stuff...
