Hello Bane!

Thanks for numbering your tricks\techniques. It makes talking about them easier.

I haven't tried 6) yet, although it sounds like a lot of fun! I kinda forgot where the Bloodcat lair is at, and who gives you that quest.

If I get there, I'll see if I can copy that battle and save it in a folder. It sounds like a fun way to raise strength and dexterity. I never seem to get tired of hand to hand combat.

You're right. I can't beat up cows because it makes me feel bad. Although, I might feel slightly more justified in hurting those big, cute, and cuddly Bloodcats. Then again, this game allows you to do mean things to other humans. So... Nevermind. Letsnotgothere Mad

12) Works very well! I must mention though. Although this trick works wonders for raising strength, it'll do nothing at all to improve your health. Keep this in mind if you want to make a team of six IMPs.

I created a new character, called Wimp. As I said before, I ran out of good names ages ago. 35 in strength, health, and explosives skills I hired a few people from AIM to clear out Omerta. Then she was on her own.

I copied and pasted my "Stash" files. Then I loaded her up on CAWs and ammo for the CAWs. The most heavy items I could find Wink

I planned trips from A10 to A15, then cancelled them. And her strength raised really fast! She gained some experience levels to.

70 strength and experience level 3 for trips my character never even made. If only I could have done that for school.

13) Also works very well. You gain explosives skill and experience levels with no chance of blowing yourself up. Quicksave then quickload to find the landmines that you've hidden.

Geez. I used to think that killing massive ammounts of bad guys was the only way to gain experience. No wonder it took me so long.

One last trick I have to offer: How to avoid battles.

When you enter a sector that has enemies in it, the game will allow you to position your characters anywhere you want on one side of the sector. I've always found this ability extremely generous and helpful.

Here is my example. You enter the sector from the right side. You place your troops at the bottom right of the sector. You make them go down and leave the sector. Now you are on the map screen. Cancel your move orders, then you return to the troop placement screen. Now put them in the bottom left corner. Then make them exit and leave that way.

I hope that they can find a safe place to spend the night and heal their wounds. Why else would you run away from a fight? Wink

I've really enjoyed discussing this with all of you, but I've started to wonder...

Aren't some of these tricks kinda, unfair?

We all play this game for fun. If it helps you enjoy the game more, then do it Smile . I personally enjoy playing with a team that has 85 in all stats and lots of good equipment. Other people are too busy kicking butt and looking for a better gun to spend time training. It all depends on your style.

No game player wants to be accused of "cheating". They will be looked down upon by all of their peers. "Serious" gamers may ignore or treat them mean, no matter how nice they may otherwise be.

Am I a cheater? Maybe. Just because I don't use outside programs or ingame cheats dosen't mean that I am playing by the rules. It never says "cheat used" in my history logs. So, I should have a clean conscience?

How exactly did the developers of this game "want" us to raise our skills? Obviously, praticing or studying is a part of it. And for the rest, we would raise the stats in skills that we use most often.

And sometimes, it feels good to earn that shiny new weapon by stealing it from that guy you suprised and knocked out.

I'm happy with the way that I play. I hope that you are too Smile
