First is about UC...Does this work with version 107 and will it let ye still play the JA2 regular game? Sec. the two patches recruiting rebels at start and the patch to recruit Slay,will theses work with version 107?I did'nt see if neither would,may have missed that. :axe:

UC must be installed on a fresh (new/unmodified in any way) install of Ja2. The easiest way to do this is just to install Ja2 manually (don't let it autorun) in a folder named UC right on you're c drive. You then install UC on this fresh install and you can have as many versions in as many configurations as you like (they just have to have different folder names.

As for the Slay and early rebels patches I'm almost certain I got both of these to work on my 1.07 version.

So for the UC mod,I should uninstall JA2 then reinstall in a UC folder then Download the UC mod?And then reinstall JA2 as is in its own folder so as to play the original? :axe:

You don't have to uninstall Ja2. Just manually install Ja2 into a folder named UC (instead of the default Program Files/Talonsoft/Ja2 path it will try to install into).

To do this you have to insert you're install disc into you're CD Rom drive, then when it starts to Autorun cancel that window.
Then click Start.
When the Start menu comes up click on My Computer.
Under Devices with Removable Storage (D Drive or whatever), RIGHT CLICK on you're Ja2 disc.
When that menu comes up left click Open.
Then left click on the Install folder.
You'll see a bunch of icons here, click on the one that looks like a pc called Setup.exe.

This will start a second installation of Ja2. But instead of just clicking through the installation look for the prompt that asks you where you want to install Ja2 into. It will already have something like C:\Program Files\Talonsoft\Ja2 as the default path DO NOT ALLOW IT TO INSTALL HERE. Doing so will just overwrite you're Ja2 install with another one in exactly the same place.
Instead hit the Browse button and type in C:\UC. It will ask you if you want to create this new folder. Click yes then install Ja2 normally.

With this method you can have as many installs of Ja2 as you like provided you name each install folder something different.

After you've installed you're clean version of Ja2 just install UC into this directory.
There are a lot of questions concerning this install so the quickest way for you to learn how to do this (if you get stumped) is to try the Search function of this forum. Any concievable UC install problem you might have has already been answered there.

uninstall the whole ja2, and re

Thanks Wodan,I'll do it seperately as I'll still want to play reg JA2 games.I've DL'd the two recruiting patchs,I like the time the one saves you in recruiting all rebels first off.It saves on hiring anyone at first,especially on lvl3.I have'nt spotted Slay yet but I'll find him soon enuff.I'll look for any fixes before DL'ing UC fer sure.Thanks again. :axe:

Yeah I kinda figured that from what I've read of UC.It seems the only place I can download it tho is Fileplanet and it says the DL time is over 10 hrs,wow that will be awhile before I do that.I hate to take away my playing time much. :axe:
