Mostly you can sell them for pocket change to Jake at the junkyard. The bum who hangs around there (Skippy) has something usful for you if you can spare one of these usless items.

Marbles... I read somewhere that you can use them as traps, I.E, a redshirt walks on them and slips. Never seen it happened though, and I tried.

Basicly, anything can be sold to someone in the game, but mostly they are there for effect. Ambiance and such like.

Cant we put this question in a FAQ and sticky it? We've seen this question over a million times. :/

(Nothing personal against you Dope, don't get me wrong, but this question is asked about once per week)

Or people ask it, forget it and ask again.

Or they first ask what the silver platter is used for and next week they ask about the golf clubs, another week later the cigarettes etc.

This vampire quest... if someone mentions it again, I'm gonna loose my temper! Vampire quest? I don't think there's a freakin vampire quest! That **** thing has been discussed hundreds of times, and I believe it doesn't even exist.

The marbles make you trip & fall.
I used to stash my stuff on the airfield-hangar-floor, near the crate. Including the $%#$ marbles, next visit someone (Ira I think) walked over 'em, fell and even got hurt (a bit...)
Try for yourself to walk over 'em :walking:

Yup, one game I had Grizzly walk on the marbles, and he slipped & fell.
Happended only once tho' so I think there's a % chance that it might/might not happen.

Yup, marbles make you slip, I tend to use them in the hand to hand battles in San Mona.

Are there items that can be combined to make something useful? I was hoping I could build a weapon like in Arcanum.

You can't make items like you could in the first game but you can add more bang for your buck to existing rifles like increased rate of fire and range. I do miss being able to mix gasoline and grenades though.

@ JJ86: You can make an X-Ray Detector by combining a number of items. Use the search function to search the forums for more information on that.

I hate building things. It used to be fun but now it's such a hassle to find the parts and put them together. At this point I just give myself stuff in JAPE when I think my teams have earned them.

They made it very hard to install a rod & spring or detonator in wildfire and JA2UC without the items being ruined. Even Trevor with his outstanding mechanical abilities keeps saying Bugger, and each time he fails trying to install the rod & spring it degrades in condition. Red has the same trouble installing detonators. Why did they make it so hard that even Merc's with top skill levels can't do it? I just use JAPE to install the rod & spring and edit the maps so that the explosive items have the dam detonator already installed. I also just use JAPE for repair and to issue upgrades to my teams.

What would be cool would be to combine a platter with explosive to make a platter charge. This is similar to a shaped charge except that instead of a jet of hot gas, the platter is deformed into a high velocity slug.

Some. Put one on a merc and walk them into an enemy sector.

And 2, if you play the 1.13 mod, you can take your knife and cut them into rags, then use the rags with a bottle of alchohol to make a molotov cocktail.

That's all I can think of. Smile

If a merc using a Deidranna Rulez or I Love Arulco T-Shirt (Always work with IMP, other mercs, sometimes) enters in an enemy occupied sector, you'll be asked to surrender. If you surrender, your merc will be interrogated by Deidranna...

And for every lie you tell Joe will beat you...

But if you manage to survive the interrogatory (I just lie when Deidranna asks who hired me, and where the rebel hideout is located) you can escape the cell (Elliot always forgets to lock it... Wink ELLIOT YOU IDIOT!!!) find your stuff, and kill Deidranna without storming Meduna! There are other threads about this, but I'm too much lazy to post the links right now...
