Ok, worst mercs means forme BORING mercs, I don't give a crap about their stats or how good they are, I can't stand mercs who don't make me laugh.
1.Shadow (What a boring dork! Tried him once, never again.)
2.Larry (Though he would be fun, well he wasn't.)
3-5. Danny, MD and Stephen (Must admit never tried em yet cause they look so ****ing boring just from the hiring sreen.

Now see, but Shadow is just dead ass boring, he'd really make a good lantern! And you got it in your signature, Shadow just doesn't say anything cool or funny, like "Firepower- the difference between life and death" which is from Wolf when he kills with a strong weapon like FN-FAL I think.

Well, let's say that Trevor is not cost effective then.
Any merc with decent intelligence can become a killer with enough training. For instance, I got Shank to lvl 9 with st/dx in the 80s, mrk and ag in the 90s. With his expert throwing skills, he was extremely deadly with a throwing knife, and was a great grenadier to back up my point man.
I like to hire "free" mercs (ok, shank isn't free at $20/day...) and sit on a mine for as long as it takes to get several hundred grand. THEN I hire my A team from AIM all at once, and immediately extend their contracts to 55 days or so while they are still relatively cheap (ie. have not gained any levels).
Trevor is a great merc right out of the box, no question, but his salary is way out of line for his level.
This is even more critical since I usually use JA2 nowadays as a training field for my mercs in UB and all the mods that grow from UB. The problem is that you have way less cash in UB. So it is then better to take a really cheap merc like Barry and train him to lvl 8 than Trevor. Both will have similar attributes in the end, but Barry will be WAY cheaper.

Worst mercs in my opinion:

Oh, well... my top5 losers:
1. Shank - a.ka. Spank, a complete loser. Useless for every task, even for a bulletmagnet. I always ditch him after he gets me the fuel from Estoni.
2. Flo - Argh, those magnifivent stats. A decent militia trainer, anyway, and helps fuel the M.E.R.C. recruiting while in my payroll.
3. Gasket - Babbling redneck idiot, who can't shoot and is complety helpless while bleeding. (Haha, die slowly! :devilglasses: ). Also, can't cope with Ivan and Igor, who happen to be some of my favorite mercs.
4. Dr. Beaumont - A true marksman, who can't hit a cow from adjacent square. I also despise his Ned Flanderish voice.
5. Ira - Jus hate her generally.
Biff is actually kinda cool, I love to hear him scream "OH MY GOD, I'M A DEAD MAN!" and "OH MY GOD, THAT'S MY BLOOD!" :rulez:

1. Flo (she sucks and she annoys the hell out of me)

3. Nails: Some people wont agree with me, but you cant even take him in a mine, or he starts blubbering like a baby.
4. Gasket
5. Ira: Medical skill is ok, but i had a problem with her yesterday missing somebody from one square away and then getting punched to death. Left her behind my other mercs and she got attacked. She had about TEN SHOTS total to kill him and missed all of them.

Most useless mercs:
1. Shank (waste of space)
2. Hamous (ditto - hire him for the truck then fire him)
3. Dynamo (better lock pickers out there)
I like Ira, Biff and Flo - all are dead cheap (free!) and all are good for training militia. Never get them into combat though! :bawling:
I like my IMP - not many psycho auto weapons experts out there :bandit:
