God, I hope not! I have nothing against the man (other then him being a snot-nosed, arrogant POS), but seeing as he was shot in the face from an elevated position at a range of 400-500 feet with a 7.62mm rounds (both NATO and Warsaw Pact), burst at point-blank range by every assault-rifle caliber you can think of (and a few times with 9mm), smacked, whacked, punched, LAWed, incinerated, disintegrated and once even mutilated, I dont see how in the name of all that is humane and holy he could be revived.

As a first post...

I always seem to find Mike in Balime. I don't know why, but I always get satisfaction from sneaking up on him with Shadow and killing him with a throwing knife to the back of the head. It is possible, but really difficult.

I've found Mike in Grumm, Alma, Balime, a SAM sight on the way to Chitzena and I believe knocking at my door dressed like a Jehova's witness. I believe that once you are at a certain point in the game (i.e. enough town conquered etc.) he randomly appears in one of the places you haven't been. I'm going to start a game using all badass mercs (something I've never done before) and try a beeline straight for the queen. This should test this theory.

No no no!! Mike never got killed ...he was never in Alruco!! He was ambushed by the queen and cloned while he was tied up in some far off island and they got his DNA!! Mike is still with AIM and now is out for vengence so you only have to pay him like nothing a day and you start with him and your IMP as you go kick ass as Mike kills everyone who had anything to do with his kidnapping and cloning!! Remember AIM suposedly didn't know where he went!! He was kidnapped and cloned !! We killed his clone!! That's my story and I'm sticking to it!! Very Happy

MIKE IS THE BEST MERCENARY EVER!!! The fact that he has just a normal name and not some snappy ultra-gay nickname (like Shadow, Reaper, Meltdown, etc) makes him even cooler. In ja1 and jadg, I would hire him as soon as finances would allow. I don't know why people hate him so much, ok, maybe he is a little arrogant but wouldn't you be if you had all stats in the 90s? Would you really be humble and not rub it into everyones face that you are better than them? My point is clear.

And you'll probably encounter him in the outskirts of Meduna.

You're right about some randomness being involved.For example I finished the game some ten times-blitzkriek style-conquering every town and objective on the map in under 24 hours.You can imagine that this way the order of conquest is always the same,and the differences in time results between different teams used for the same missions in different games are minimal(some 2-5 minutes-see "chronicles of Az" for the strike order and conquest time).
Mike appeared in 4 different locations:H14 or H13 Alma,H2 Grumm or K4 Orta.

Mike needs to come back for JA3 [although i've heard bad things about JA3 : ( ]

If you love him then it makes sense to want him back. For those of you for vehemently hate him, i think that is a good reason for him to come back too! He's an amazing character, and interacts with us even more if we hate him [as do i] than if we love him. I can't imagine a JA3 where i can't have the oppurtunity to get pissed off at Mike again.

and undulatinggumby, that is an awesome story to explain all the loose ends!

A clone wouldn't explain things since a clone wouldn't have the experience or skill of the original.

If you want a sci-fi explanation then how about this: after he died his corpse was dumped where the Crepitus bugs found it. The Queen sensed it was a superior specimen and reanimated it. After the Queen was killed the control over Mike disappeared and he managed to escape the country.
