Hello Guys,

been playing Ja1 again extensively and been able - for the first time - to decipher the code partially. And this topic beeing mentioned in other posts I decided to share things I recently found out. Well, I guess, it's an old topic, but well, maybe some people are interested.

The code works that way that one character is replaced by another. For example X really stands for T and so on. Question is how to know what character is replaced by the other.

There two possibilities I figuered out so far.

First, there's a minefield in sector 41. There is a sign that says "attention" (or beware, danger etc. I don't know exactly because I play the german version and so do not know what is the exact term in english) But the sign is written in the code. So you can at least translate "attention minefield" in the code and so figure out which character is replaced by which.

Second, you find a note mentioning the code, meaning which character replaces which in sector 53. Though it is dirty and only partly usefull, and I haven't found out yet, wheather there is some way to read it completly.

Well, there is a third note, which's use I cannot figure out yet. It's the only one with words divided by / "backslashes". I suppose it is also linked to the code. Found it somewhere at the center of the map/sector of Metavira.
