You can find them both here:

http://www.abandonia.com

JA1 will run just fine in XP with sound and all, so no need for DOSBOX or any other emulators.

JA:DG I'm not sure of, I haven't gotten around to trying it out on XP yet, I'll have to install it one day and find out.

DG works in XP only with Dosbox, but there is a good tutorial on the site about how to install it sau make it run.

i'd like to know how to get the latest updated version of dg working without a cd. i'm working on a multiplayer campaign with a friend, have 8 maps done and have worked out how a pistols only mod might work, and how to rebalance everything so no team is ever super powered compared to the other. but without the latest updated version running, we can't apply the weapons mod.

Good work on the link find, though it didn't do me any good. I played JA2 (and UB, etc) for years while my favourite games-supplier tried to find the older stuff for me. Took him three years or so to get DG (and then he mistakenly sent me a second, unboxed, version in mistake for JA1), and about two more until I suddenly discovered Abandonia for myself and saw JA1 there.

Boomer: you sure? I must have installed Dosbox without realizing it, then, since DG runs fine for me.

Does "with sound" mean "including the speech files"?

edit:
Ah, no, it isn't Sad (( Pitty, since the game is about times more fun with speech.

Hint: NEVER borrow a game like JA to a "friend" :rifle:
