I think the only way to do it is to replace one of the AIM or MERC mercs, its been talked about heaps before, use the search function.

No, no, there's a way, but I don't remember it. I think you use JA-AIO, it has a custom merc editor, and there's a certain procedure to follow to have multiple IMP's.
(something like starting a new game several times and then load the IMP.dat's into a savegame or something, to combine the different new IMP's.

Well, anyway, just wanted to mention it's possible, maybe someone else knows how exactly?
b.t.w.: I think it doesn't work with v.1.07.

Eisenhower...You can make an elite squad of black men.I call mine the Black Brigade.Custom Thug,Gus,Magic,Ice,Blood and Dynamo(sort of,takes hard work) and Vicki for that female touch.

Of course I do have my Euro team as well.Ivan,Igor,Grunty,Barry,Stephen and Thor,and for variety with the Euros,I add Buns.And if I got enough money,I hire steroid first for about 50 days and bring in Ivan and Igor later.Too bad you can't create a custom with a Euro accent.Maybe they could implement this in JA3.

Always fun for me trying to see which team gets a higher bodycount.But of course they always lose to my Special ops team of Custom X,Shadow,Reaper,Lynx,Danny and Grizzly.

Well, as I understood, what Roadkill meant in that article (even it's quite old, very nice one, imho, esp. for beginners) is npc editing.
Replacing existing AIM mercs for that purpose (to get more IMPs) would be a fake.
There IS a way to have more than 1 REAL IMP. It is achieved with a simple cracking. It's a bit buggy though - problem with faces: like if you pick different faces when generating them, they'd be different in the strat map, but with some weird distortion, and they'll become the same in the laptop. Other than that it would work ok. Clones got to have the same face, right? :nerd:

What I think Dvornik means is to crack IMP's site, so it allows you to re-go throught the process. Dunno what exactly he means, but you could nop the code (find it through the string reference of the error). I'll give it a try if i find time.

What about Azreal's multi-imp patch? That one is pretty easy to use. And if its adjusting your custom merc's stats you can use Person Editor or the IMP creator in JA2 All-In-One. You can find all of these in Jagged Alliance Galaxy , in the JA2 Downloads section.

Yep, that's exactly what I mean, reverse the code responsible for entering IMP site and char generation. That way you could easily have up to 18 IMPs in as much clicks...
Anyway, I could do it for v1.12, as it is the only version I'm currently interested in. That is, of course, if you guys need it that bad. I have very little time to spare @ the moment.

Reverse the code? What do you mean? A je->jne (or jne->je) wouldn't have the effect of diplaying the message each time you try to make an IMP for the first time? Reversing would work *only* if you load a savegame with an IMP already made.

Actually, as i noticed, it would be just the opposite: it wouldn't work on a savegame, coz the flags would be already set. Then again, it's maybe possible to ignore this with a jump.

Oh, and in case you won't like it, backup ja2ub.exe before applying the patch.

Ok, so you have two situations:

1. You started new game after applying this patch, or didn't complete IMP ganeration in your old savegame - in short, you don't have your char yet.
So, it's as simple as it can be: go to IMP site, generate char, go to IMP site, generate char, repeat as much as you want.
IMPORTANT NOTE: you can use each voice only once, otherwise the game will go to infinite clock mode after landing in H7 and won't be able to play the game. So basicaly this means that you can have 7 IMPs at max (4 male voices and 3 female).

2. You have a savegame with IMP profile already completed (before using my patch). Of course, to go to IMP site, you gotta have your antenna repaired, heh heh.
In this case, is pretty simple too. Go to IMP site, enter password. You'll get a usual message "Profile already completed" AND another char will be generated automatically, based on imp.dat file. If you have imp.dat file in game Data folder that is (normally you should, unless you deleted it manually for some unknown reason). After this, enter password once again, and you'll be allowed to make yourself as many IMPs as you want. You could even try to make more than 7, using the same voices that is, don't know if this won't create problems later. Anyway, in case some problems happen, you could simply dismiss the dupes.
TECH NOTE: The prob with the voices is because there are only 7 files for imps, each tied with corresponding voice set, so if you select the same voice, they are basically sharing the same file, and this causes problems in scripted scenes, like the one after crash in H7. Other than that, they are (?) quite functional. Haven't tested that though, so do this at your own risk. As I said, you can dismiss the duped ones at any time, so there's no risk at all).

Anyways, that's pretty much it.

Sorry for importuning you guys, but i've found that you cannot chose the skills for the IMP mercs (Only the first one, the rest will have the same skills of the first one) .

I don't know what is causing this, is there anyone who can solve this problem ?

Hmm, I found a workaround for you, Maniac2. After making each of Imps, save the game and exit to Windoze (Alt+x is the quickest way). Then start UB again, load your game and make another Imp. Repeat as many times as you like. This way you'll have different traits.
It's lame though. I'll fix it sometime. :blueface:

Actually, I found that later on that night, but was too tired to post. I got up this morning and tried to run the patch on JA2_UC, but with no success. Just sent you an email asking you your thoughts, actually.

I had the idea of renaming the file "JA2_UC" to JA2UB, so the patch would work, but unfortunately, there must be more to it. Smile

hey Rev, you might try making a save game in with your 2-6 IMPS in regular JA, then save before getting to the first sector.
then load the save in UC and try it.

I know this way worked for Wildfire, so i'd guess it should work for the other mods as well.
if you need to adjust any money or items, the best way is to wait to get into sector 1 after the landing, save, and use JAPE to fix any strangeness, like removing guns and such fi you want to play UC like it starts.

I know for Wildfire you got more cash up front..
though with multiple IMPS.. the cash balances cause you don't have to hire your first squad.

I tried to make multiple imps via Dvorniks patch but it did'nt work for my 1.03 version of ja2.Now I'm looking for some 1.12 patch and I can't find it on oficial pages.
Is there any other multitimp patch I could use?

Considering that Fiary's last post was almost a year ago, I wouldn't hold out for a response from him. However, Several people here do keep old patches and fixes and hacks, so maybe someone can help you.

There is always 1.13 if you can put up with the bugs it has atm.
