No, no, there's a way, but I don't remember it. I think you use JA-AIO, it has a custom merc editor, and there's a certain procedure to follow to have multiple IMP's.
(something like starting a new game several times and then load the IMP.dat's into a savegame or something, to combine the different new IMP's.
Well, anyway, just wanted to mention it's possible, maybe someone else knows how exactly?
b.t.w.: I think it doesn't work with v.1.07.

Eisenhower...You can make an elite squad of black men.I call mine the Black Brigade.Custom Thug,Gus,Magic,Ice,Blood and Dynamo(sort of,takes hard work) and Vicki for that female touch.
Of course I do have my Euro team as well.Ivan,Igor,Grunty,Barry,Stephen and Thor,and for variety with the Euros,I add Buns.And if I got enough money,I hire steroid first for about 50 days and bring in Ivan and Igor later.Too bad you can't create a custom with a Euro accent.Maybe they could implement this in JA3.
Always fun for me trying to see which team gets a higher bodycount.But of course they always lose to my Special ops team of Custom X,Shadow,Reaper,Lynx,Danny and Grizzly.

Well, as I understood, what Roadkill meant in that article (even it's quite old, very nice one, imho, esp. for beginners) is npc editing.
Replacing existing AIM mercs for that purpose (to get more IMPs) would be a fake.
There IS a way to have more than 1 REAL IMP. It is achieved with a simple cracking. It's a bit buggy though - problem with faces: like if you pick different faces when generating them, they'd be different in the strat map, but with some weird distortion, and they'll become the same in the laptop. Other than that it would work ok. Clones got to have the same face, right? :nerd:

Ok, so this patch allows you to have more than one IMP char.
It works BOTH on new games (started with this patch) and old saved games (where you already have completed IMP generation).
HOW TO USE IT: simply put in in your UB dir (where ja2ub.exe is) and run it. After that start the UB, and go IMPing
Oh, and in case you won't like it, backup ja2ub.exe before applying the patch.
Ok, so you have two situations:
1. You started new game after applying this patch, or didn't complete IMP ganeration in your old savegame - in short, you don't have your char yet.
So, it's as simple as it can be: go to IMP site, generate char, go to IMP site, generate char, repeat as much as you want.
IMPORTANT NOTE: you can use each voice only once, otherwise the game will go to infinite clock mode after landing in H7 and won't be able to play the game. So basicaly this means that you can have 7 IMPs at max (4 male voices and 3 female).
2. You have a savegame with IMP profile already completed (before using my patch). Of course, to go to IMP site, you gotta have your antenna repaired, heh heh.
In this case, is pretty simple too. Go to IMP site, enter password. You'll get a usual message "Profile already completed" AND another char will be generated automatically, based on imp.dat file. If you have imp.dat file in game Data folder that is (normally you should, unless you deleted it manually for some unknown reason). After this, enter password once again, and you'll be allowed to make yourself as many IMPs as you want. You could even try to make more than 7, using the same voices that is, don't know if this won't create problems later. Anyway, in case some problems happen, you could simply dismiss the dupes.
TECH NOTE: The prob with the voices is because there are only 7 files for imps, each tied with corresponding voice set, so if you select the same voice, they are basically sharing the same file, and this causes problems in scripted scenes, like the one after crash in H7. Other than that, they are (?) quite functional. Haven't tested that though, so do this at your own risk. As I said, you can dismiss the duped ones at any time, so there's no risk at all).
Anyways, that's pretty much it.
