Hey, bit of a problem. I downloaded the Vietnam UB campaign, and expected to be using weaponry from the late '60s, and didn't. I'm checking in AIM's mercenary ranks to see if anybody happens to have an M-16 and noticed on Nails...

"Flying vest 2? F*CK!" I had Bear Pit campaign as well, and apparently it's changed items overwrite 'Nam's changed items. Anyway, I deleted Bear Pit but the items are the same. How do I get rid of *those* modified items and instead use those from 'Nam?

First go into the folders and find one labeled "Campaigns" see if you have it set for SOG 69. If you have already done that, then I recommend you reinstall everything. Trust me...I know from hard learned experience on this.

1. Reinstall UB into it's own folder.
2. Patch it with 1.01 patch.
3. Install SOG 69.
4. Set Campaign to SOG 69.
5. Start new game.

Good luck.

Ok, it's easy.

1. Go to your "start" button, usually located on the left hand side of the screen. Click on that.

2. Click on "Programs" or "All Programs".

3. Look for either the "Interplay" folder or where the UB game is filed under and click on that.

4. You should see a choice to uninstall UB. Click on that. It will do the rest.

5. Then follow the steps I outline before.

Don't worry about looking dumb, if that meant anything most of us couldn't post.

An old saying "the only stupid question is the unasked one!"

Since we're already on the subject, I want to talk about the authenticity of characters. I remember 'Nam as mostly filled with young conscripts, so what mercenaries would be realistic to have in the campaign? I'm thinking MD, Biff, Blood and Gumpy, anyone else? And for my IMP, would it be most realistic to have skills Camo&AutoWeapons, or something else?

Here's a list of mercs that you could choose from and still be realistic.

Stogie
Cougar
Bubba
Larry
Biff
Razor
Gasket
Gumpy
Haywire
Gus
Magic
Reaper
Lynx
Shadow
Len Anderson
Static
Danny
Nails
Wolf
Ice
Raider
Blood
Hitman
Grizzly
MD
Bull

Just my opinion. I would not pick too many of the mercs with low skills to start out with if you plan to play SOG 69.
Oh yeah, I forgot. Auto weapons and camoflage would be good skills to have or night ops and either one.

Have fun.

I just went thru that hassel when I swapped to a new Hard Disk--heres what I did.

1. Deleted everything, put save games in another directory.
2. Re install.
2a. Apply 1.01 patch
3. Don't use the Wedit, SOG 69 takes care of that.
4. Install Sog 69.
5. Set campaign to Sog 69.
6. If you have Sog 69 saved games bring them over.

I did it just like that and had no problems--before I was using Wedit and my weapons were messed up.

Pretty much what others told you--but be sure and DELETE EVERYTHING in the old directory.

Good luck!

Trooper Thorn,
I'd say you could throw in Sidney and Stephan along with Trevor. The Australians were there with the coolition. Along with Norwegians. I don't have a list of everyone who fought with us, but I also know many South Koreans fought in Vietnam - and were feared as well.

The list additions as far as I can see could be.
Scope
Sidney
Tex
Dr. Q
Buns
Stephan
Scully

But you are correct, Warsaw Pact/Soviet dudes would have been immediately distrusted. There is a misconception that we were the only guys fighting with the NVA and VC. I'm sure with some research you could find the list.

Just as interestingly, some of our "allies" in Europe and elsewhere were delivering shiploads of supplies to the NVA controled ports. It paralyzed our Navy from doing an effective blockade. It was a strange war, er' I mean, police action.

LBJ all the way! (down to hell)

Well, y'know, I want to thank you all for your help. However, I ask you don't try to give any more help. The weapons aren't changing, the NPC's aren't appearing...I just don't care, and I'm getting this thing off my piece of junk of a system. Nothing can be worth this. Thanks, but don't try to give more advice.
