Where to find Carmen for rewards?[message #91201]

Maybe I haven't played the original JA2 for too long, but where should I find Carmen for rewards? Thanks!

P.S. I only have controlled Atremo, Callisto and Troy so far.

And I have played Atremo, Calisto, Sheraton, Port Kip, Galileo, Troy, Rudesa, Drake and Prax and haven't found him yet. Where is he?

He shouldn't have left Atremo. I think we fixated his position there because he was dissapearing all the time . Very Happy

Hope that fix made it to the download. Check it by opening proedit.exe and looking at Carmen's sector designation. (middle right of proedit screen).

In my game he isn't in atremo
What are the rewards? perhaps I'll try to get him back,if I get almost useless things I'll forget him.

Well, I got the list of "Crepaton Executives" from him in Atremo, but when I went back Atremo with a head, he isn't there. :confused:

You don't know PROEDIT!!? I don't believe it! It's one of the best programs that JA2 includes! You can change stats and all kind of things with it, also you can check all kinds of things about the AIM guys MERC guys NPC's RPC's, it's very useful when you're modding (actually, I don't think you can mod without Proedit).
And for the other question, you can locate it from your BinaryData folder. Extremely useful.

Freelancer, look in program files\talonsoft\ja2\data\binarydata fodler for proedit.exe
As Maddog explained, it's a program to change all kind of character related statistics.

Ps: If you want to play around with it, note that changes only take affect after starting a new game.

But I suppose I can't get my reward now since Carmen isn't in Atremo? Does he move around in JA2UC?

Does that include loading a savegame, or is it newgames only?

Carmen isn't in Atremo for me, so he must be wandering around bars like in the original.

according to carmen proedit its a9, however there is no a9 in the game? can i change the sector as i want?

A9 is your starting square - he's there all right! {try the east building}

*ProEdit changes only affect new games.
Changing location of the mobile characters such as Carmen & Postie is beyond ProEdit and map editing ... because they are always moving around!
for Carmen, hang around the bars (in original JA2: "I prefer the Northern part of the country ... near the airport"). He'll show up eventually, camp a merc there & check daytime + evenings - may take a few days.
For Postie, he travels the roads.

Other characters cannot have their location changed unless you also hack the map square, and place them on the tile you want to.
