Hi folks!
In the sector next to Calisto there's Claudia inside (don't know which sector exactly).
What do I have to do with her? My morale sunk when I killed some of her bodyguards. What if I kill her?

The morale raises. But if you kill her Tony will turn hostile in Port Kip. Well, I killed Tony then. I never actually needed him too much. And Smithy's as good as he. I guess. Very Happy

Well, that's not 100% certain. I killed Claudia and her bodyguards (I attacked at night and they were hostile), then went on to Port Kip, cleared C5 and Tony is there, quiet and happy in his little room.

Again, I am playing the game strictly by the book. No cheating, no 100 marksmanship custom imported, no stolen weapons, carefull advance.

A bug. Tony is set to San Mona Arms faction, so if you kill anyone belonging to this faction (like Claudia) he'll eventually turn hostile. It will be corrected.

It's discussed in another topic. Apparently, they accidentally made Claudia and Tony belong to the same faction.

(Nuts...TrailBlazer got an interrupt on me.)

Thanks, but for now, who do you have to avoid killing to keep access to Tony?

Screw Tony, Claudia shot at me so I killed her.

Funny thing is, I've never done the hand to hand and tried to take stuff off unconscious enemies.

But I had Claudia dying and I tried to get stuff from her, but got nothing.
Then she dies and drops a stechkin and some money.

I see. As I said I'd never tried it before as I hate hand to hand combat since every time I've tried it, my mercs got severely trashed.

Stealth is overrated too. I've tried a jillion times to sneak up close to someone with expert stealth and kill them with a knife. I've died every single time. :yikes:

I found this sector really interesting. I saw lots of red dots in the strategic map and did a save before entering at night from the east. In hindsight, I'm glad I did.

First, I had my arse handed to me. I entered about mid way on the right. I realised I was surrounded by about 6 bgs. According to the amazingly accurate intelligence obtained through the radio, there were about 6 more in close that I couldn't see. By liberal application of light sticks, grenades and a mortar round, I brought down about half of them, but the return fire (including a mortar round, an RPG7 rocket, 2 launched grenades and sundry small arms fire) took down my squad in 2 rounds.

Second, on a reload, I started further north (to the right of the north building) and did much better. However, in the exchange of grenades, I must have hit a civilian, who was injured and hostile. I left the sector, knowing that he wouldn't be hostile when I returned, but the retreat caused morale to plummet, with my team all bitching about wanting to go home.

Third, when I reentered, I found Claudia and realised she was the character my wife did the voice for. I called my wife over to watch and gave her a burst from Morgan's LMG. I got one of those weird death animations the chest equivalent of the head pop). My wife was unimpressed and insisted I reload and next time leave her alone. Glad I did now I read this stuff about turning Tony hostile.

Funny thing in this zone. I went in there when I was too weak. I managed to off Claudia, but had to withdraw because the enemies, plus Claudia's black shirt boys were way too nasty.

Well I went back later when I was stronger. Claudia's still dead, but now her troops are friendly. Go figure.

Who exactly is Claudia anyways?
I nightopted that sector and started shooting everything that moves (if it moves, it's an enemy; if it's stays still, it's a well-disciplined enemy :diabolical: )
Grizzly noticed Claudia standing by her limo so he let her have it with a grenade. She died and I never learned who she is.

Yes. That wasn't the best move, but getting her to do the voice was. I've had amazing latitude playing UC. Then again, she does have the impression that Claudia appears throughout the game and that I'm thinking of her constantly as I play.

I did it to Lynn (c13?). I am sure I would not have tried to heal her if she was only critical - it does work. I will find another RPC and try to get some screenies.

So anyway, is there any way I can turn Tony unhostile after hes already called me a 'dead bastard' (I killed Claudia before I knew about her and Tony Wink ). Even if I have to use an editor, how can I? Or do I have to kill him now?

Not during your current game. If you want to go ahead of our patch, simply use the PROEDIT we packed in, find Claudia and set her group to None (she's San Mona Arms). Use Edit Hidden button. But you would need to restart your game.

You could also try an "empiric" solution. Sometimes Danubia NPCs have a short memory. Clear Tony's sector, leave and let him alone for a couple of days. In my game I killed Claudia on the way to Port Kip, but I took my time before taking the whole city. I must've spent days preparing for the final assault. And when I reached Tony, he was ok.

Someone asked before but no response was made .... who exactly is Claudia. She obviously works for Crepaton. I had thought she was one of the one's Carmen was looking for, but when I cut her head off, I discovered she wasn't. So, is there any motivation to kill her. I don't recall her guards firing on me, though they appeared to be hostile. Since I attacked at night, at first I thought it was just poor AI that made them sit there in the dark while I pounded on them, but then when everybody's morale started to drop, I realized the error. I suppose if I leave her alive, I can always come back and finish the job if I have a good reason.

Oh, by the way, prior to entering her sector (didn't actually know she was there until I got there) I had used ProEdit to change her faction to Warden, thinking she was one of the Crepaton officials I had to take out. Thought it made sense. Didn't think to set it to None. First question, which faction *should* she be set to? Second question, will it cause a problem that I assigned her to the Warden faction (if/when I do kill her). For those who haven't come across her yet, I changed her faction *after* I had started the game, but before I came across her. Afterwards, I used the GABBI cheats to teleport to Tony's sector and he wasn't upset, so that much was good.

Warren.
Claudia is a Crepaton official therefore a target.
Trick is to have her engage in conversation before shooting thereby gaining full entertainment value from her presence .... most other target characters exist for a similar purpose .... around 22 of them.
Player meets baddies who speak their lines then hostilities begin.

If you assign Claudia to Tixa Warden faction she shoots immediately .... same for Hicks.
We tried to find a neutral faction which permits conversation ... something like Ernest who works as planned. Someone on the team thought hard coding was involved with her character ??? which seemed to make her hostile no matter which faction she was given.
Assigning her to San Mona Arms was an error.
