Bearpit,

Thanks. Claudia did talk to me, though she didn't have much to say. I reloaded to see if I could finish that sector without killing her, but her guards and her actively came after me this time, so I had to kill them anyway. Morale still dropped even though they started shooting first. Only problem here is that I'm getting down to the wire in renewing some contracts. But, I found a use for all those beers I've found. Gave Jubilee one and her morale went up enough for me to rehire her for another week. Smile

At least I didn't mess things up with the faction setting, it would seem. I used Warden because I thought that's what the officials whom Carmen wants you to get were set to, but I guess I was mistaken. No harm done.

Thanks for all the hard work on UC. It's a heck of a lot of fun.

Warren

Is that true ? I thought I tried to do that years ago but the ennemy always refused my help. Have you managed to do that ? I must try it for sure :naughty:
Conscious enemies cannot be healed, but DYING enemies are in no position to refuse help.

I started Claudia's sector by night. I managed to kill almost all his bodyguards... but when there were only 2 left, Claudia started to talk to me. After her blablablah she shooted one of my mercs. So I decided to retreat to Calisto leaving this sector unfinished.
The party morale dropped and to make this a little bit exasperating, my squad was ambushed by sabertooth tigers entering Calisto.

But a couple of beers solved the problem.

Men and beers... like the real life.

Bye.
Tin.

* bump *

Can the Admins please put instructions for changing Tony's faction in the 1-2-3 Installation Guide, or link to a thread which explains it.
Tony's is rather central to a lot of people's plans, and he is certainly not worth popping Claudia who has no head and only carries a Stechin. This should help until a patch is available. Personally I feel a patch is premature. There is still a bunch to discover. So, keep reporting those bugs everyone.

Oh...should try it out and talk to her next time. I entered at night and she didn't even have the chance to turn into my direction. She was one of the first to die :axe:

@Nightkin

Nothing changes even if you talk to her. After the dialog closes, she starts to shoot at you. There's no way to avoid killing her unless you like to be wounded or you talk her from far, far away...
Maybe she looks at the dead corpses of his bodyguards and thinks that maybe she will be the next one...

Bye.

I have bad news... for me, because it seems that Tony's memory is not so short...

I reached Tony's sector only to find him shooting at me. I thinked about Shanga's words about the short memory of NPCs... so I leaved the sector and let time pass to see if Tony changed his mind and become friendly... but after 15 days Tony still wants to kill me, and I spared Claudia's life...
So I'm thinking seriously about restart the game and let Claudia's sector unvisited.
There are any option to change Claudia's faction without restarting game?

Sob...

I killed Claudia at night, and she was hostile. And Tony was friendly to me.

It's a tragedy all right :bawling:
Same for me, Tony is instantly hostile even after visits a week later though I did kill Claudia.

The only consolation being that Smithy still trades & regularly has the elusive 5.56 AP ammo.

Changing factions in Pro Edit requires a restart to become effective .... so Claudia's wrong faction is another collosal stuff up that needs to be rectified with the patch.

So what's the news on Tony? i killed Cludia, he's hostile and there's not a damn thing to do about it without restarting the game?
Proedit? Cheats? Nothing?

You can apparently change her faction setting in proedit, but you'd have to start a new game for it to take effect. In other words, you're S.O.L. with regard to Tony. Sorry.

Does anyone know why the morale of all my mercs plummeted immediately after I took out Claudia and her bodyguards? I don't understand that.

On a related note, who is Lynn? She was in one of the first sectors I conquered (think it was Calisto) and she got caught in the crossfire between some militia and the enemy. I believe she took a full burst to the chest and splattered her anonymous organs everywhere. I couldn't figure out who she was though.....

She was a crepaton stooge who the locals wanted you to whack. :rifle: I think her demise buys you some loyalty points, but not sure.

She replaced the chick who ran the Drassen sweatshop. If you take a little trip into the basment beneath the Calisto Factory and talk to Brains he'll ask you to send her on a perminant vacation. `Course, the damn cops turn hostile when you ice her.

Back to Claudia.

I'd iced her in my first game but read this thread and decided to start anew with modded proedit.

Did that and Iced her again but must have messed up the modding because Tony blew me away when we met.

So started checking my earlier saves and found one from the Clauida battle where all the enemy was dead and Claudia was dying. Started healing her and tossed a couple of Tear gas and smoke grenades while Vickie did the searching.

Collected all the goodies and departed...Razor sure gets peed when we run from a battle. But it worked, just took Port Kip and Tony and I are buddies! Wink

But she blocks easy access south! Sad

hi people

just started playing, i changed claudia to faction none

entered her square, there were crap loads of army which i killed without going anywhere near her convoy. Once all the army was killed the game still kept me in combat mode. So i kicked up my radio and it showed me one red dot on the convoy, (which i assumed was claudia).

Now all her guards are non-hostile, (btw this is a night ops) i walk up to her and she speaks to me, i threaten her back, she shoots and misses, bang, barry unloads a m4 at her and kills her.

now her supposed guards are still non hostile, and the sector is clear???

haven't seen tony yet but i assume that with me setting claudia to none i should be ok.

ps btw this game rocks, even with some dodgy voices, graphics and bugs, i do believe this mod is better than the original for gameplay and maps. Roll on another mod with the source code while we await ja3.

would it be better to change Tony's faction? That way, Claudia's bodyguards would defend her (but you might get a hostile reception in San Mona).
Tony & Smithy could be assigned faction "none" - although your team could then happily waste them and no-one in San Mona would give a shit, you wouldn't want to do it!
