I dunno if its unique to UC. Whenever you unload a magazine from a weapon, it no longer has any weight until you put it back in the weapon or stack it with other mags of the same type. This means you can fill your inventory with weightless machine gun boxes, 1 in each slot. I have Morgan carrying 1100 7.62x54mmR rounds for his PK. :biglaugh:

11 boxes X 100 rounds per box = 1100 rounds

I can see you're a mathematics genius.

Hi Plop,
finally someone that noticed it! No, it's not UC related - but it is very apparent in UC because of the boxes which weights a lot. In the original game there where no heavy clips (50 rounds max in SMG, 30 in others...) so the bug wasnt' that apparent. But now it is. And believe me - it has annoyed the crap out of me since I first discovered it. :bawling:

I noticed it in Rubicon also. kind of nice to play but indeed frustrating for the modder who tries to balance the game.

The only ammo feature that got me upset in the beginning was that when you upgrade the Car-15 to an M4 it now takes 5.56mm ammo, not .223, even though IRL they are the same thing.

But I understood what happened. You had to base those rounds and damages on pre-existing ammo types from the original. I think the SKS has the same stats as the M4A1 (minus burst of course) 30 dmg.

Anyway, that made it interesting while taking the airport last night. I found a 1:7 twist barrel and trigger assembly next to the airport and was WOOOHOOO! then used it, and was only able to use the 7 remaining bullets in my gun, until I found some 5.56mm ammo LOL even though I had 2 mags of .223 ammo left.

Car15s & M4s are a balancing act at the start.
.223 ammo is relatively easy to acquire so hold off converting you CAR15s till you have assured supplies of 5.56 ammo .... which is rare & limited right through the game.

Also when you convert a CAR15 the remaining .223 ammo converts to a grey 5.56 which you can fire off .... but if you eject or try to top up that ammo in the weapon you get .... a .223 clip ejecting.
