I believe you must mean SPIKE. Spike says 'boy'. But no matter, you'll find Spike too. Check through the sector G9 in Galileo. Somewhere there should be stairs (not the subwaystairs) which go down to a cellar in Map Level 2, G13. You need Rosebud to break the locks and in one one room there's a fella named Shady. Pay him 20,000$ (if you got the money ) I had over 100,000$ at the moment. You can hire Spike, Snake and another merc from JA1. They cost 1000$ a day.

I still love my merc. She has a hit rate of 94% with 110++ kills to her list. Btw I just started playing and took one sector of Calisto.

She is at Ranking 5. Is that normal for her to get lvl up so fast?

It's normal if she's doing most of the killing. My IMP works that way initially. I use her almost exclusively to kill stuff until she's nasty. Once I've done that, I'll usually do the same for the rest of the squad until I have a nasty bunch.

My favourite merc is not new but I newer start a game without him. The guys name is Ivan. :ok: He's a very good allaround merc and he has great lines in a game. Especially when he's gun runs out of ammo. Very Happy

Ayana was just a parked Merc for me, I usually used Gasket to get MERC the money needed for better people.
But when I had to send somebody home to get Spike and Kelly, she was my first choice.

Too bad indeed.
Ayanna (sp error?) is from the Clancy game and was (I think) the only chick I used to use from that one. She was supposed to be Israeli but I recon she learned how to speake English in France.
What I'm getting at is do whatever you need to do to get around the extremely minor annoyances of this spectacular mod so you don't clutter the legitamite bugs, etc. that some people are finding. While comments are cool to read in my opinion we should sort of focus on what can be done to make a good patch for the problems that are actually causing gameplay errors.

Yes. I rarely play a game without Ivan. He does so many things well. Really well. I like the way you can't understand him. I imagine myself as squad leader not trying to and just pointing him in the right direction, then him coming back saying something incomprehensible, then me going out to have a look and finding 30 bodies.

Hang on, this thread is about the new mercs. So I'll add Spike to my list of ones I like. You need a strong heavy weapons specialist with all the heavy weapons in UC and he fits the niche beautifully. Freaks me out when he says "time to close things down boy". i'm often playing when I really should be going to bed and it sounds like your father telling you do do just that.

I must say that my new favorit is that lovley AYANNA ! Team her up with Raven and you have a team that can take up the fight with anyone ! I use them armed with highly modified M-4rs, one with HP and the other with AP ammo. Just freeking lovley to see them blast away aginst just about everything :rifle:

Ah, my old favorites still rule... Shadow, Raven, Reaper and Magic. BUT... I adore Rude Dog. I mean, "BANG, baby!" He may not be the fiercest warrior in my current stable, but I just love the guy. Only I won't let him loot, because his "Waaaaa?" is too annoying. Very Happy

Of the new mercs that I've tried, Morgan is tops, followed closely by Alayna. Tex is magnificent at close range... get within 20 meters, and it's "Dead desperado" every time. I wish there were longer range single-handed weapons for him.

I haven't tried the basement mercs, because I read their voice waves occasionally CTD the game, and besides, they cost too bloody much. The daily rate is fine; but the lump sum up front is a deal breaker for me.

Anyway, I'm having a fine time with the game. Thanks to all involved in creating it.

Furthermore, I am Chinese by ethnicity, and I can assure you that Ayana does not look or sound Chinese. She certainly sounds French, so why can't she be French? Like I said in another post, a previous winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature was a French guy...of Chinese ethnicity. Not all French people are Caucasian, you know.
