C5 - My preferences:
DAY OPS - Enter from the North, move team to back wall of northernmost building. Use noise to attract enemies around corner for interrupts/HTH fighting. Some cops will remain inside building, so explosives may be useul for bringing them out into your shooting gallery.
Move East, crossing the road to grassy section. Set up snipers and begin slow advance to central warehouse bldg. You should get all kinds of interrupts.
Once you've reached the central warehouse move snipers to the roof for clean up.
One rooftop sniper on smaller roof to the East. One elite in Eastern warehosue. Be sure to divert this one before opening the door!
NIGHT OPS (noisy) - same as above. East or North entry. Use breaklights to illuminate the road to the NW.
NIGHT OPS (silent) - same as above except cops can be interrupted (with ranged weapons) by moving from grassy section to central warehouse.
OTHER NOTES: Several difficult crates in this sector. NPC - Tony

D7 DAY OPS Entry East or North - This is kind of like a walled city. There are probably some breaks in the fences that you could use, but I am the suspicious type after UB. Surprisingly, the entry gates aren't that well defended.
After taking care of the guards in the houses adjacent to the Northern gate. You can generally clean teh sector in a counter-clockwise manner. Postal van is a real LOS killer, so best to manoeuver in two teams - 1 keeping to the inner ring road, and the second flanking the narrow route around the perimeter buildings...
If you search every building using sound tactics, you will be rewarded in D7.
Notes: NPC Postie w/ vehicle, bring some shaped charges
NIGHT OPS (silent) and NIGHT OPS (noisy) will find this sector pretty easy. No enemy rooftop snipers were seen

Port Kip tube statio underground level 1.
I arrive to Port Kip by tube. I got an interrupt with two felons that die in a whisper. I move my Imp to the room with the windows and climb to the roof. I move Shadow and Raven on top of the train, and gradually as his action Points allowed them move Tex, Barry and Rosebud iside the train looking south for interrrupts.
The folks appear regularly until I kill most of the, if in trouble inside the train, put the mercs also over the roof.
When no more enemies appear, move you squad (following your style, mine pairs) to find the last felons.
Easy.

The same happens when they are shooting at Claudia's guards. As for the police in Port Kip, they were set as some kind of civilian faction, so they wouldn't become hostile on sight to the player's squad. For this reason the game engine sees them as innocent civilians and that's why the mercs morale drops when they are killing them. Nothing do to about it!
You can rescue Miranda without having to shoot the policemen, though. Just break the wall of the prison with a TNT (but nothing stronger!). If Miranda is hit by the explosion and gets hostile towards your mercs, just exit the sector and then come back: she won't be hostile anymore and you will be able to escort her to Bruce.

I am a bit stuck in D6. I have cleared the streets and buildings, (all except for the bank, which I can't get into), but can't find the perso(s) keeping me from clearing the sector. There is a subway stairs there, do I need to enter now to clear the sector? (I didn't think so). Any suggestions?
thanks

UnclE SaM,
This is an old bug with the game. When you attack the CIA convoy with Claudia (located just west of Calisto), you end up getting Tony mad.
There is a program called pro-edit that you can use to edit the prof.dat file from the game.
If I remember correctly, Tony is set to belong to the "San Mona Arms" faction, as is Claudia and some of the guards protecting her. This means that the game thinks Tony, Claudia and some of her guards are friends - so if you kill any of them the others turn against you.
There are some patched maps out there, and I think one of them changes the factions of the guards. I am currently playing Urban Chaos again and I changed the faction in prof.dat for Claudia and Tony (set now to "None").
I haven't reached Tony yet, so I am not certain it worked.
The big problem for you is that the changes to the prof.dat only take effect when you start a new game.
So for your current game you may need to kill Tony - and you won't be able to buy from him anyway. But you may be able to patch your Urban Chaos so it won't be a problem in a new game.

Another way to finish the Miranda Rescue without taking out the police. I'm not sure this would work for you as I've only done it once.
Wait until the guard in the prison hallway is alone (the one blocking the door to Miranda's cell). Make sure no one else is visible when you stand next to him. Punch his lights out. This should allow you to get Miranda right out through the front door where everyone can see and they will not attack.
Again, I'm not sure if this would work. I left the sector and came back a few times (unrelated), and when I got back the guy at the prison cell was wearing civilian clothes and not holding a weapon (looks like a regular civilian, not the police!)
Also, another question on Port Kip - I attacked one of the southwestern sectors of the city and immediately there was a firefight between the police, the enemies, and a group of civilians in white shirt. Who are they? I never got to them - the enemies took them out so fast and I've only got two mercs there (IMP and Ivan, everyone else are more of equipment carriers since I don't bother leveling them up much).
Oh and also, I also had that thing where Tony shoot at me when he sees me (killed Claudia first). What does Tony do if he's let to live? Sells weapons like in JA2? And what was the importance of Claudia? I remember someone telling me about her but I forgot what I shot her for. Is she one of those wanted executives whose head I should've collected? (Too late for that now! But would be nice to know).

I have the same problem in D6. I kill an hostile cop (blue soldier) in the subway station, but nothing happened. More, after I come down the stairs and cleaning the subway level of all the hooligans, I noticed that the map indicate that I am in sublevel 2 but in H4 Drake ?! Is there a bug ?

Hi GEORGIE_REIGNIER, Welcome to the board!!
The previous post was made in 2006, five years ago, it is likely people won't see your post. Also, what version are you playing, e.g. UC on Vanilla or on 1.13? There shouldn't be cops on the subway in either one (I believe, not sure though).

Hi Dieter!
Due to unsolved account problem, I can't log in since your answer. The cop is just an hostile at on the surface behind the subway station, not in the sublevel. I found another hostile cop in the bank as said in an other post.
I begin Urban Chaos some years ago, but never finish it (playing total war and a lot of mods). By chance UC was always on my laptop with my savegames, and last month I began again the game, and since I play every evening

Logistericthe false sector is due to what could be done then (replace EXISTING sublevel sectors and nothing else)- port kip has the station's name written in the pavement for that reason
Its a big bug, because from Drake I can't use the subway to go elsewhere. I find another subway bug, in Atremo subway, I can't go to Port Kip ( but it works from Port Kip to Atremo) ?

Logistericin the sector with the bar (c6) - he has only one - you need to bring the lady you free from jail to him
than i don't understand it, as the ubt always worked for me in vanillaUC
... btw, there is an edit-button
OK, I understand, it's Bruce the photograph, Miranda's partner.
About the subway bug from Atremo to Port Kip, the arrow icon never appear whe I place my squad in the train. What is the edit-buttton ?

try every door you find in a train - the teleports are not always at the same place
edith - reply - quote - quick reply - quick quote - notify - email post : at the lower right corner of every post, edit of course with your posts only
it helps you to avoid double posts (which some here, especially those with a bear-face, don't like)

Oh yah, you are right, they are also shaded in the sector inventory. Hm, can you distinguish between inaccessible and owned items in the inventory though? Maybe this is why I said the above, subconsciously.
Oh and well yes, I *am* getting old. I believe in all recorded history, not even the gods claimed to get younger. (Although most of them claim not to get older though.)

Yo Georgie, I found the subway confusing the first time too. Eventually I figured out that all you need to do is read what is written on the floor. Match the text and numbers with the in game table (not the map).
Depending what version you are playing, there is a table giving you the starting city subway station and to what other cities it is connected to.
If the current subway level does not have the number you are looking for, then go down a level and look for the number again. You can't rely on the strategic game map, you need to go by the text and numbers written on the floor.
