Coming out of the subway into D6, I was pleasantly surprised that the police did not attack me as has happened everywhere else.
I did attack one of them silently at the subway entrance, and stole his Agram before Malice made a pork-kabob out of him. :diabolical:
I cleared the sector with zeal and efficiency, and I thought I had all the redshirts killed.

I found Plodski (RPC in redshirt BDU) across from the police in the building directly South of the police station. If I attack him, the cops attack me. If I attack the cops, he attacks me.

Does this RPC have any purpose? Is attacking them my only option here?

UPDATE: Well, I left the sector and came back.
I was able to talk to Rudolph, and Plodski and Bromski. I still get info about noises heard in the tactical screen.
In the strategic screen, it is no longer blimking red, but I cannot pick up items from the Inventory screen or perform any ASSIGNED tasks.
Perhaps it has to do with the single cop I killed previously. Typical San Mona-style bug. Sad
I guess after the quest is completed, I will have to relieve these cops and scoop some loot from the bank....

From what I can gather, both Pludski and B?ski are both cops. They tell you that they have Miranda in the prison there, and they are both rather open about being corrupt cops - which is Ok, as I was rather open about mowing them down.

Yeah - I had the same thing....there's definitely at least one cop who is immediately hostile when you enter the sector, but you can kill him without having to worry. The others, including Plodski and Brodski won't turn hostile unless you turn on them....you can even rescue Miranda in full view and they won't care.

I suppose it depends how well you're armed and whether any of your team are carrying injuries - b ut I preferred to deal with the bad guys and the cops in one go....just off the lot of 'em..

Hmmm. Both Plodski and Bronski are there to block they way to Miranda... turned out they just moved aside when trying to pass them. They still ought to get hostile once they see you leaving with Miranda though...
The general idea was that you had to shoot them to get Miranda out, thuis gettin the whole sector on your neck. I know there are ways around that.
(like blowing up a cel wall)

Well yeah, I set Miranda to patrol near the exterior walls, hoping that the player would injure her with the explosion, but...

I killed Bronski and had no problems with the cops, but killing Plodski made them attack.

She only turns hostile if you harm her. She's a quest object actually ... hmm, nice one at that :secret:

Uh, no she was hostile before I ever got to the bank. In fact It was driving me nuts trying to find her as she was the last hostile in the battle.
I HATE having to find that ONE last guy in the midst of 15 buildings. Takes forever.

I played that sector at least 4 different times and in each, I killed all who attacked me and when she was alone and untouched she muttered a couple of lines of dialogue then started shooting. So if there is a way to make nice to her....I have no idea!! :whoknows:

UPDATE In light of the fact that D6 is perpetually buggy for me, I had to do a workaround to get the Miranda quest to work. In my game, after you blow the wall Miranda starts to run around like there is a battle going on. You can still talk to her and recruit her. She becomes a member of your squad but is frozen in one of her "duck and cover" stances. You can unescort and then try to recruit again, but this leads to other problems.
I have a suspicion that Bruce will only recognize her if you have done things perfectly, i.e. got her escorted and moving on the first attempt.

THE SOLUTION was to blow the wall, leave the sector in tactical and come back. The sector resets, and she is now standing upright, looking like she wants to be rescued. Then head to Bruce's sector using the tactical. (I have no choice)

For some reason, this whole quest seems to hurt my merc's morale, but not nearly as much as killing the cops, which quickly brought their morale down below 10% - some were flatliners - and it's very hard to win a battle when your guys aren't interested in shooting. :bawling:

Another note about Bruce. I tried beating him down, to se if he had the documents on him, but all he had was a videotape and I also killed him after stealing the videotape (as an experiment), and he did not drop the documents (deed), just the $1000 I gave him for the armor.

I have not tried similar experiments on miranda - she is is just too charming!!

I am left wondering if attacking this sector from aboveground is the best way to avoid this bug... I leave it to someone else to figure out. g'night

When I came in there, I took the redshirts out and then talked to both Bronski and Plodski. Then I looked for the cell where Miranda was enclosed. It was blocked by a simple Policeman.
So I aimed 2m behind him and shot him without being punished by the police. Then I just proceeded to the north, brought Miranda back to her fotograph, got back to the Newspapers' director and picked up my reward.

By the way, I find it impressing how the Mod Squad managed to converse all these NPC-Stories.
Miranda once was this prostitute you had to free, to let her escape with her brother, right?
