I haven't taken Drake, Roxx or Adrian yet, but think I should have found all the merchants by now. I seem to be missing a few, particularly the ones in Rudesa (or rather the ones who would have been in Balime in JA2). Of course, they could have been removed or relocated.

Not counting the repairers as merchants, I've found:

Betty in Calisto - replacing Keith
Jake in Gotham
Tony in Port Kip
Smithy in Port Kip (maybe he replaced somebody)

Any help? It's Franz or his alternate universe counterpart that I'm really after. I've turned Rudesa upside down looking for him. Damn, did I use mortars there?

Oh yes, in a rural map near Rudesa (looked like a gun runner airstrip), I found a dodgy looking NPC in a small hut. Don't remember his name. Despite him already being hostile (I didn't touch him I swear, but I did kill all his friends) I got him to say "I'm a business man. Let's talk business". However, as soon as the text box closed, he opened fire. I returned fire after realising he didn't have a buy/sell option. Mistake?

Try the huge casino map in Rudesa.
Traders are only in their shops during .... daylight trading hours.
There are 3 shops and .... 3 traders.

That guy in the grass airstrip toilet ..... Grrrr seems he wasn't fixed.
He is supposed to behave like a neutral NPC & engage in conversation.
Wrongly assigned as a Hick I think .... which is why he attacks.

Considering there are explosives all over the place, C5, pipe bombs, satchels, dynamite, Mickey's pretty superfluous in this game.
My mercs run into more explosives than they can readily carry.

You mean Devlin. Mickey is the blood cat trader. I havn't run into either one yet, but they're supposed to be here.

Found him, but didn't find Freddo or Arnold in the usual (as compared with Grumm) place in Drake. Any clues? Also, any ideas where to find Mickey and Devlin? I've taken everything but Adrian and thought my search for them was pretty thorough.

I had a problem with Tony....

Cleared the sector at night, then started exploring the sector, opening doors, chests etc.

One of my mercs walked into Tony's shop and he immediately says something like "You're dead you bastard!" then turns red and opens up with an AK.

I'm guessing it was because I saw him at night and all the locals were hostile so he went hostile too. Hopefully when I return in the daylight, he'll be OK.

I don't know if you are a regular reader of this forum (though you have posted enough to be one...)
If so, I might be repeating something you already know.

Tony gets hostile if you kill claudia (in sector e12, or something like that). They were assigned to the same "faction". Although this is not true every time, it has happened.

There is a thread about this somewhere else in this forum (in one of the UC topics).

Edit: seems someone else was a bit faster then me...

Yeah, I used to read this forum fairly regularily but I stopped a few months before UC came out. I just downloaded UC last week and have been playing it on and off. I mostly avoided the forum to stop "spoilers" so I missed the Tony threads.

Well, I guess I'll try leaving Tony alone for awhile.

Incidentally, I found Tony's partner. He was OK and sold me some 5.56mm but he would not buy anything. Does Tony buy guns or does he just sell stuff now?

Tony does exactly the same thing as he did in the original JA2. Buying and selling ammo and weapons.

His new partner only sells (as far as I have experienced). In another forum thread I read that he will buy some guns, don't know which ones that will be.

It seems "Pro-Edit"ing Walter won't work. I set him to Faction "None" and he's still hostile. Oh, well, I guess we'll have to leave it to the experts... Smile

Did you change it before starting your current game? Otherwise, it wouldn't have any effect.

I have well over 1000 items in Tony's sector at the moment, but he is hostile. It's still far enough from the front line to be safe.
