Hi all

I am in G9 and took the stairs down to the creature lair (which for some reason seems to come out in G13 (bug?).

This is described as Shadey's merc hire place but i can't find him - mainly i think because i can't get through some of the doors. On one i tried a satchell and 3 shaped plus lock pick with 99 skill, but no luck.

Any idea's

Somewhere in that basement, shady is located. If you give him 20k, he will have a couple of mercs for hire.

when u come out into the 'creature lair', there will be a reception counter sorta area..turn left at it and go straight all the way to the door at end of the corridor, pick that lock and u will come into a corridor with 3 doors perpendicularly to the corridor u came from. Leftmost door/room is where Shady is in.

turns out i was trying to blast my way into the room where you hire the mercs - but you can only get in when shady leads you there - so it was never gonna happen

You can get in there without paying Shady. But that'll give you a reputation of a 'CHEAATEEER!!'. Use the GABBI.

I haven't tried it yet this game, but in Beta6 I recognized the map that Shady was in. And that got me thinking, what NPC did he replace, and I wonder if *SPOILER* still worked... Yup, Shady opened the door for free. *EVIL GRIN*

Which is to say, there is another way that doesn't involve $20k.
