in troy 1 defender is waiting and yust to good to get the first shot or a interrupt, my trick then is go as close as possible, and shoot in the direction were the guy hides, after some shots you enter turn-base, then step from behind the door or wall and make the first move...

They can still interrupt you.
If the enemy is prone you can try to flank him. If you know where he is at, you can use smoke to get closer to him, then throw a molotov cocktail and charge his position. I have never seen any enemy get an interrupt after receiving one of those nasty things out of an innocent-looking smoke cloud.
Camo'ed enemies get some good interrupts, too. Not sure which sector or enemy you are specifically talking about. I love the tall wheatgrass in UC, though. It is the best soft cover.

i mean the guy in the cel, its not possible to trow at him and he sit stil in the back. but by a shot trough the wall, at him, jou do enter turn/base combat mode, and than is easy, if he not get the interrupt.

Just enter turnbased and toss a stun grenade in his direction. If you know generally where he is you should be able to hit him with it without needing to see him. Then walk in and swiss cheese him.

Do you have a screenshot of this location, gorgo?? I have a hard time mentally picturing it.

I have used smoke to enter a room full of elites before, they didn't like it, but there was nothing they could do!!

If he is the last enemy, and the only way you can toss a stun gernade on him is to hurt yourself, then go for it. And just have another merc jump over the point man and put a burst in the bad guy.
Testing munitions on one's own mercenaries keeps their senses sharp!! Wink

For those enemies that hide i just use explosives , it usually takes the soldier out with the wall . I like how UC has made explosives more useful . Very Happy

As for first shots , i just make sure a high leveled merc is on point .

High level merc at point. Absolutely!
Len at point = first shot about 98% of the time not to mention crazy interrupts.

Try to strafe to enter a room. Chances to interrupt the baddies is much higher.

e.g. my imp level 9.
Enters in a room walking in stealth mode - interrupted by a red shirt
reload
Enters crouch in stealth mode - interrupted again
reload
walks close to the door, L to turn the face to the wall - strafe (with ALT) to the opened door - Bang the red shirt is interrupted.

If you can't do it, get somebody walk in opposite direction and shoot a couple of rounds un-silenced. then enter immediately the room, the guy will most likely have the head turned in the direction of the sound.

Another option is to toss a stun grenade in real time mode and walk immediately in the room (while the grenade is in the air or immediately after it exploded).

All this works as well when you want to pass a corner of a building and you know that baddies are posted behind.

@gallager, no i have no screenshot, but i used the trick 3 times on the last hart to find hart to get redskirds, my merc has only a 6 explvl.
@blast gread trick the looking in direction of sound,
