Day ops is harder than night ops, but you can still make everything work overwhelmingly in your favor just like in night ops. You need a lot more people and a lot more equipment, but it works.

This is the stuff you need for each squad:

Team leader with high leadership and an assault rifle. I generally give the team leader either an M4A1 or an M16A2. The Team Leader always stands in front, or when going around corners, is the one who is right at the corner.

Grenadier, with an extra supply of explosive ordnance (of course). Good Grenadier weapons are the RPG w/ the MP5 as backup, the M4A1/GP30, and the M16A2/M203. Usually, I have the Grenadier stand right to the side of the team leader.

Machine gunner, with an M249 SAW. Any machine gun will work, though. The machine gunner will need an MP5 or a Bizon as backup, usually.

Designated marksman. Usually, the designated marksman is my IMP, Lynx, or Scope. Any sniper rifle is good, with a scoped M4A1 when the enemy gets too close.

Rear guard. Fox is always my rear guard, since she's also a very good field medic and doctor. The rear guard will generally only need one good medium-ranged weapon like the M4A1 or the MP5.

Flank guard. Similar to the rear guard, except that instead of being a medic, I let the flank guard carry the antitank weapons. The flank guard will also sometimes go around and attack the enemy's flank.

Sometimes I will bring a specialized antitank crew of three people as a supplement. One of them carries direct-fire weapons, one of them carries a mortar, and the third one carries all the ammo. The main squad will support the antitank crew against enemies while spotting all the tanks.

Day ops is definitely a lot tougher, but it's also worth it to be able to just dig into a position, hide behind some really good cover, pop up, shoot, and drop down again. I usually find myself either piling behind two buildings, piling behind two corners of the same building, or holing up inside a building with a lot of windows, crouching up, shooting, and dropping down again. When I'm using corners as cover, I run out, shoot, and run back.
