Which weapon(s) use the 7.62mm box and where can I find one (the weapon, I mean)?

That should be the PK machine gun. I'm sure you can find one just to the east of Troy, but you have to fight against the gun runners and some regulars (bloodcats, too!) for it.

Don't forget the Dragunov. Probably the first sniper rifle you get, there are some in Port Kip, and earlier if you dare steal. I keep my Dragunovs until late in the game, just because of the easy logistical solutions provided by the 7.62x54mm belt box.

The RPD is a good gun, but I prefer the RPD because you can attach an Elcan, it makes the weapon a little more practical. Also has a more common ammo supply (regular 7.62)

Da Cheetah, could you please tell us where to find the first Dragunov before going to Port Kip? There are times I can't assemble a scoped M4A1 because the PSO-1 scope in Calisto sometimes doesn't appear where it's supposed to be and I need a scoped weapon early in the game. Thanks! Smile

I don't know about before PK, but Tony's sector in PK has two rooftop snipers with them. Night, camo, sneak around a lot, try not to get your brains blown out too often Smile

Rosebud on speed can knock 'em out and someone with good dex (I think) to steal.

I believe I encountered a Dragunov east of Calisto airport on a gunrunner in a guard shack. I've only seen it 50% of the time, and you have to steal it, which is tricky, especially since there are so many enemies and this early in the game you're pretty poorly equipped. PK is probably a better bet to get them. I find if you just chill near the wall under the sniper and bide your time, eventually they'll pop over your side.

That isn't the Drag, it's the CZ700CM (7.62NATO).

Assuming you go to Calisto first, the E Sam site has two rooftop guards with Drags plus maybe a couple of clips.

SPOILER

To steal these, just keep wandering around killing the ground level troops until they're all dead so you'll not be ambushed from below while standing and stealing.

Then position your troops next to the building and try attracting the sentry close to the edge. Once he's close toss a stun grenade and have another thrower with a stun grenade ready to mount the roof. Mount and toss that grenade and have the ground level thrower toss a tear Gas.(The ground level thrower needs to be, st least, one step away from the building for clearance.) Roof Mount the remainder of your troops and end turn (with a pray!) If your 'really' lucky the sentry will stay down and it's an easy run up and hit him a couple of times, bring up a high Dex/Strength troop and steal. Then kill him! (don't forget to use gas masks)

But most times he'll stagger up and fire a shot, hopefully missing. If so just run up and bash him a couple of times until he's down and steal. Have regens and energy boosts handy (Razor plus energy boosts is a great combo).

Don't forget to watch for the other roof top sentry while stealing.

Stun Grenades are great, lob them so they hit around the enemy, never directly on the enemy.

Be sure and have gas masks ready for use!
