Does anyone ever use the "spread" function with the burst weapons? I've tried messing around with it but not really hit much,it can make some enemys duck but i think it works better as purely suppressive fire...anyone got any tips to really make full use of this feature?

I use it occasionally, but find that a normal burst works just as well, especially on clustered enemies. I think the engine has some limitations when using this function, because its really tricky to get the bullets where you want them to go, plus you have to factor in burst penalties.

Don't bother, it's a waste of time and bullets. Shame, but that's how it is.

I suppose it's pretty realistic - spraying lead everywhere doesn't even provide decent suppressive fire.
The only time this tactic might actually be useful is when you truly haven't got a clue where the enemy is - as Maddog puts it, "Let's fire wildly till they come out of their hiding places"!
