Sector K9 - Question about Hans[message #97942]

I took sector K9, and was clearing up at the end.
An NPC there called Hans suddenly went red when I opened one of the chests (I didn't take anything)
and I had to kill him...
Anyone know the effect on the plotline...?

Had the same issue; I don't think it affected anything in terms of game outcome since I completed the game several times.

Couple of options: Hans is part of a faction that you had previous issues with, like Claudia and her associates.

He doesn't like you messing with his chest

Maybe he got tagged by a stray bulletin or gas cloud?

Take what he drops and move on!
