Hi, after a 2-year long hiatus, I decided to restart my JA2: UC campaign (don't know where my advanced saves are, so I had to start off at day 8 with only the first town and Callisto airport secured)

I am now in Troy, but have a problem - black shirt soldiers, black shirt goons 1, black shirt goons 2, and blue shirts (cops?)

They are all armed, but the soldiers, and SOME of the CIA goons in black shirts shoot me, or give the 'enemy' prompt. The OTHER black shirts don't, and simply run around, ditto the guys that look like the cops in Callisto that I had to kill.

Now keeping in mind this is at night, is this a bug,and all the black shirts are CIA and need to be killed, or are there two seperate factions with the same fashion sense?

Dunno all that much about the different factions,

I mean from JA2 there were Deidranna's army, the Hicks, the SanMonaThugs, friendly Militia and the Bugs'n'Bloodcats, that could make up to 6 factions can may fire, and there's still civilians.
The faction a character belongs to isn't the same word that you see when waiting for the PC during turn-based, opponents turn / civilians turn.

About not being attacked, perhaps you haven't killed Sharky the subway-thug (a9-sub1) or visibly looted the police-station (a10).

Leaving Sharky for later, allows you to walk into the weapons-stashes (a14 a.o.) without getting shot at.

...or perhaps you've loaded an non-UC-save that doesn't contain the same NPC's and quests.

it's a UC-save and I've looted and killed the police and subway thugs, I think...

ugh, too complicated. contemplating just going back to JA2 Gold and installing V1.13

does V1.13 include the no CD crack? I prefer not having to swap discs if possible
