tosa - robert a. heinlein, starship troopers (the book): a corporal is promoted to lance corporal (iirc) and buys a farm immediately afterwards (I DID NOT CHECK THAT - the ranks). can't you believe that an example (even a would-be wrong one) is not more than that - an example. and btw did i ever say i was talking about the us army?

Well first of all he was in the US Army so it would be strange if he got a promotion to lance corporal in the Indian or British Army. Secondly I was merely pointing out the mistake, obviously you thought that lance corporal was superior to corporal (if you knew before then this just got way more interesting) but now you know so learn from it or not. I don't care either way. Oh and feel free to point out my own mistakes, I love to learn and I'm not offended when corrected, happens to me almost every day.
