Why did you build SDL by yourself? Does the development library from the official SDL site (http://www.libsdl.org/download-1.2.php at the bottom of the page) not work?

As far as I can tell, the SDL dev lib for OS X just contains SDLMain files, some templates and documentation. There's no installation routine, no sdl-config to speak of... that's why installed from source. Did I do something wrong there?
