but I'm unable to generate them for my new maps or update the existing ones.

Please describe in more detail, why you are unable to generate them.

First I haven't found a menu in the editor to generate them.

Then I looked at the code and found out that the screen which generates them must be triggered at initialization of the game by a variable called something like "GAME_MODE_UTILITY_MAP". This variable is set if you run "ja2" with the "-domaps" option on the command line. The option is available only if you defined "JA2BETAVERSION" when you compiled it. It is the case for me since the editor needs it to work.

But when I run "ja2 -domaps", it crashes on segmentation fault. The debugger backtraces the error to a file like "sgp/Quantize.cc". It seems a null node is dereferenced there. I still don't understand anything of nodes and I am lost as soon as the code leads me to the "sgp/" folder. The code might not be bugged, it could be that I need to run something like "ja2 -domaps path/A9_b1.dat" instead.

I don't know if it's the radarmap that is needed,

Please send me these maps, so I can verify this.

They are sent now.

"ja2 -domaps" takes no additional argument.
"Quantize.cc" is in "Build/Utils".
