And uncommentet JA2BETAVERSION as it seemed to be the correct one.

You don't need it to play the game. It is used for debug purposes and is one of the required flags if you want to run the map editor.

got the following errors while compiling (but it finished):

They are not errors but warnings from the compiler. It's about integer values which size could be truncated when printed on screen (or in a file like 'debug.txt') by the various debug messages functions. You can ignore them, they have no effect on the game.
