Some more research showed that roof climbing was enabled in the russian official 1.02 patch, and then got disabled later again. It seems to me that while this feature is great to have.. in a mod. But its rather strange to see it in a mod with a goal to provide a stable and unaltered gameplay, without knowing the exact reason why devs specifically disabled it.
