Attach a laser scope (when you can get one). They seem to have a tremendous benefit to burst accuracy.

It also seems to help if you fire a single shot (with at least an extra AP or two for aiming) just prior to firing the burst. And always fire bursts at the torso unless you are extremely close to the target.
