Are you playing the game in windowed mode? If so you could try "CTRL" + "z" to lock/unlock the mouse inside the game window.
Or maybe you have another application in the background that has its window borders where this "wall" appears in the game? Windows sometimes does strange things to JA2.
Maybe ALT tabbing out and back in the game helps? (Don't forget to press ALT again once back in the game because it gets stuck when tabbing out.)
