In vanilla Data\Ja2_Options.ini all non-vanilla options are turned off and numeric values are set to numbers from the original game. It should play quite similar to the original game. I haven't tried it though because I don't want to miss all the new features. If you have anything more specific than "the ini is buggy" please tell us so we can fix it. If you feel that some setting should be different you can easily change it in Ja2_Options.ini using a text editor.
