It does sound very odd, and not a feature we have edited in Vengeance apart from the Battle statistics panel which can be present in most resolutions, I can't remember if that is optional in the ini, you could perhaps turn it off to see, but I am literally 'clutching at straws' here. Seven is also correct that you do not need install stock 1.13, as all the 1.13 files are already present in our later download packages. I'd also suggest doing what he said and check your video, even ensure your graphics card drivers are up to date. Have you also tried playing in windowed mode to see if that changes anything?

If you can send a screen shot that might help, but until someone else also faces the same problem it's very hard to work out why it's happening to you.
