YOU RUINED RAZOR! DAMN YOU!! I just got the merc email, hired him, and when I found out you had removed his knifing epertise (which I always modified to stealthy+knifing, as you can rarely knife without sneaking up on them first, or I just made him improve his agility alot) I reloaded. I know I can fix his skills and stats, but it says "Razor only works well with sniper rifles" so I suspect you edited one of those hidden attributes that makes mercs partial to certain types of weapons. HOW DO I FIX HIM? His persona and comments are completely unsuited to sniping.

his endgame quote is the best of anyone's. Something about going to a neighboring country and starting something up. A foreshadowing for UB!
EDIT: oh yeah, and knives are too weak. I snuck up right behind a redshirt with my IMP (stealthy, knifing) and, using a knife, stabbed him twice, the first "wounding" him and the next taking him to critical. My IMP has a dex of 65 or something and strength of 60-70, can't remember exactly. I can ASSURE you, that if I, personally, snuck up behind somebody lying on their belly, I could kill them with a boxcutter, let alone a real fighting knife, in one or two stabs, and the only h2h training I have is rudimentary judo and HS wrestling. If they were standing, and I had snuck up behind them, I would have no trouble slitting their throat and killing them, which my IMP also failed to do once (hit the neck but did not kill). I suspect that the insta-kill afforded throwing knives and normal knives (I think) if you hit them without them seeing/hearing you in JA2 1.x was either disabled in UC somehow or is bugged.
My IMP was wounded a bit, though bandaged, so that may have done it.
