Right on! Well said! Assuming a law abiding citizen is incapable of responsible gun ownership is pessimistic paranoia at it's worse!
But, back on topic (I think) civilians in Ja2 (while being sort of annoying) are one of the more realistic things about the game. Think about it, if you really were running through someones hometown battling the existing authorities don't you think the local population would be at the very least confused? Yes even too confused or upset to get out of you're way and thus avoid getting shot themselves. Panic causes real humans to behave in a surreal way sometimes and ignoring this is taking away some of the game's realism.
Also remember that this game is about going to a foriegn country and trying to raise a militia from the indigenous population. Gaining the trust of these folks involves conducting youreself in a proffesional manner (meaning neither accidentaly hitting a civilian in the crossfire or purposefully smacking a hysterical housewife out of you're way so you can ransack her home without distaction). Yea, it's kind of annoying when they refuse to move but shelshocked individuals don't always behave in a manner consistant with logic.
I don't know the spec on a 9mm PM or PMM either as expressed in the game or real life. Would someone who does please answer this guy's question? I think he's waited long enough.
