OH MY GOD! I just discovered how to give weapons and items to militia!!!
Left click the item in yr inventory, right click on a militia, the cursor will change, then left click on same militia.
Heh heh heh... :diabolical:

Yes, they do continue to use the weapons! I arm my green militia with assault rifles, sniper rifles and grenades, then get them to follow me on the attack on an adjacent sector within Alma. I sit back, giving orders, spotting enemies, playing a commander's role. And that really changes my game play.
Now my mercs are like CIA operatives, training and arming militia, and they do the grunt work.
An interesting thing happened after the battle. The only militia guy promoted to cyan shirt lost all his equipment, even armor.
Usually they already have helmet and vest, so u can only give them leggings.
Another note: Im playing NewInv B5, and I have trouble giving them items like 30 round ammo mags and LBE items. 5 round sniper rifle mags are fine though. Items that they wont accept (no slots, i think) will automatically drop to the ground. Giving LBE items often results in CTD. On just one occasion, I try to give a 100 round drum mag, but it got dropped. I then put the drum mag into a saw pouch, then gave the saw pouch to him, finally he was able to accept.
Guy, do try it, and share yr experience.

Rednight
It is a shame. I would like more interaction. Maybe when you get veteran militia you get the option to higher them as mercs...cheap but as mercs.
Concerning this, you know that's impossible....The RPC list size would have to be changed.Accordingly to to the Ja1.13 developers, this is available only by code changes. And imagine the size of the RPC list if you have a LOT of veteran militia.... :wrysmiley:

Does it only work in 1.13? Tried in the official version and got the clock pointer, tried waiting a minute or 2 but the game didn't respond to anything except ALT-X.

Actually Felix, that's not true. If Shank stays in Drassen, but you take your other mercs to somewhere else, and they go into a battle, then you'll load up the sector where they are, automatically unloading the sector where Shank is. His presence would then be useless.
