How come the APs for guns isn't the same in showiteminfo.xml file as in game? I thought the file immediately extracted info from the game? Anyway, there will be a perfectly sound explanation.

I'm currently creating a macro which automatically puts all info in a nice excel sheet with filters & shit. Pretty handy to find the right gun or armor for your merc. The downside is that you need Excel.

I'll upload it when it's finished, but I wanna be sure how to interpret the info.

The APs are calculated using a formula that includes the stats of the wielder. The XSL uses some set values that may vary from in-game.

Thanks SpaceViking, also for the XSL -- it's great!

So, as I understand it, the XSL's AP values are great relative indicators after all and for a merc with certain stats all the values are correct, right?

It's not that for one gun you need more dexterity and for another more strength and that this is reflected in AP cost, right? Would make things way too complicated and a list completely useless.

Yes, the values are just an estimate useful for comparison purposes. Someone with higher marksmanship I believe uses fewer APs. Or maybe it was Agility.

I've added the Excel sheet in your thread.

The way I find it easiest to consider it is that it doesn't matter who I am... once I pull the trigger the weapon will take the same amount of time to cycle. If a turn is five seconds, and the weapon takes a second to cycle the action, a merc with 25AP's would need to spend 5AP, while one with only 15AP's would need only 3AP, if both of them are pulling that trigger as soon as it cycles. Similar with full auto... A five year old holding down the trigger will get the same rate of fire as a ten year combat veteran. At least until he needs to clear a jam or reload.
