Does anyone know where to change the Blockfont2 colour palette (unless its in the STI file). Seeing as in places there are some very annoying colour choices I wish to alter.

Well found an answer the colours are linked to the palette of the font. I am compiling a list of which colours are used and where. I will add to the list as I find out more Smile

Here is a current version:

1 Transparency Colour - MUST BE (0.0.0) Also main colour for Description box (bug).
2 Generic Background colour for text. (0.54.0)
3 Shadow for Itemfoc text Item and Map Numbers and option screen. (0.0.0)

I would like to know this as well. You can change it through the .sti, but you have to change every frickin letter I think. That's why I never bothered. But if there is an easier way.......it would be nice to know how.

not really you just change the colours that are in the palette. Seeing as it uses the colours on the palette. Thing is does it work off the STI's palette or does it work like the Anims and get changed by an alternative palette elsewhere (like JA2.set). I haven't tried the STI palette change yet, but will do in a day or two and let you know.

I don't see any other way to change the palete than within the .sti. The way the anims work is the areas that are shaded are done so right in the animation frame but then the game assigns the real colors via the entries made in places like proedit for characters and the entries made in the map editor for all generic sprites.

If there is another way to add a palete I'd surely like to know.

You can change the uniform paletes of enemies and militia by altering the pal.dat file in binarydata using Toxic's very cool Paledit utility. But these changes are global so if you want the mercs dressed like they normally are you would then have to go back and manually edit prof.dat to accomodate.

I've wanted a utility (or xml) that allowed you to alter the uniforms, race, and gender of all factions for quite some time. This would go a long way toward adding realism to some mods.

Yeah I'm testing the palette change in Photoshop today. So should have a result after Wink

Unless it is controlled by the Pal.dat or JA2.set files.
