i keep reading about suppression fire- but why? i don't get the point of suppression fire- what is the tactical use for it? it makes the enemy lie down? what good does that do? makes them harder to hit cuz they go prone- why would u want to do that?
can someone please explain how they use suppression fire in this game to their advantage?
also not sure if this is the right forum, but i'm getting confused with all the different types of attachments and which one i should in 1.13 - could someone link me to a place where i can get more details on the attachments and other items i'm finding in 1.13? specially i'm playing RR- not sure how much different that is from the regular 1.13
sorry for all the questions, but this 1.13 is a totally new thing for me

it also makes your team lie down, and that's a big difference (you'll see that when your entire team lies weaping in the ditch and one yellow-shirt knifes them one by one). afaik there is no rr-ham.exe, anyway.

The whole point of suppression fire is to make the enemy lose point that they may use to shoot back at you when it's their turn. On basic JA2, suppression only takes off a few APs thus it isn't really useful.
With Headrock's HAM mod which includes a major suppression tweak, the enemy lose APs for each time he gets suppressed. You whittle the poor turd's AP to 0 if you want. You check out Headrock's HAM mod version 3.3 here)

ah ok i'm playing RR now with 1.13 and i see the difference from JA2 vanilla- using the sweeping method with auto fire now actually has a use besides wasting ammo.- nice touch
