Hi all, I actually completed this game once before, many years ago (several). I am now playing it again though for the second time after a loooong break. I am really struggling though. I have a great team, with some great mercs. I have a tough guy, two medics, and a 99 marksman, and all of them are good at shooting. So I am doing ok. I captured the town at the top right which has a mine that is earning me money now. But I healed up all my squad using the doctor/patient option, and it used up my med kit. Then I decided to work towards the hospital and I have used another kit getting there. I have now captured the hospital but there are 3 or 4 other locations I think I need to capture before the guys in the hospital will heal me, and I have no med kits left.

My squad are all on full health except for one person who has an injury and is constantly losing blood. They are going to probably die before too long, and I am just not finding any med kits so I don't know what I'm supposed to do. If I can't get one ASAP my guy will die before I capture the hospital's town. I also hired my second merc healer just so I could get their kit, but I used that one too.

Where am I going wrong here?

Thanks in advance!

Hi books and welcome to the forum.

First of all, what you're probably doing wrong is that you're allowing your mercs to get shot way too often.

Now to your problem concerning the med-kit. There are a few ways to acquire med-kits fast:

- Search the hospital for med-kits. As long as they're laying around somewhere within the hospital (NOT the locked building next to the hospital) you can just take them withot making someone mad.
- steal them from the locked room next to the hospital in F8 - beware that you will turn the doctors against you with this action and you will also suffer a loyalty loss.
- Order a med-kit from Bobby Ray's and let it deliver with overnight express to Drassen. You can fly the injured person to Drassen with Skyrider and heal him there.

In future battles you should make sure that you're carying enough medical supplies. Order them at Bobby Ray's.

-Beka

If you are already low on medical supplies, you probably shouldn't "waste" them by healing your mercs (via doc/patient), just bandage them to stop the bleeding and let them rest.

Beka is right about the rest, although I doubt a bleeding merc will survive till the Express delivery from BR arrives.

Did you already recruit Ira (rebels in A10 basement)? She should have a med kit when you recruit her.

Thanks guys. I haven't got Ira yet, I also am not sure where Bobby Ray is. I will have to find him now and get a kit from him. I think I screwed up because I didn't realise you can just rest to recover health, I wasted all my kits with the doctor/patient thing. Hopefully I can still recover though once I find Bobby Ray Smile

Lol I didn't realise you could just buy stuff like that! That makes life SO much easier! I played everything so far with just the weapons I found and the two med kits I started with. This will make things so much better. Thanks again guys, Arulco will be saved now!

Yeah I was looking for those guys but I only found barmen so far and some guy selling leathers and stuff. But at least with a couple of med kits, I am able to start taking over more towns now Smile There's nothing stopping me now.

Sometimes you can find first aid kits in toilet cabinets in the towns.
Just a question (and a small advertisment Very Happy ): did you try the 1.13 mod?

One thing I tend to do almost every game is explore all the toilet cabinets like PVal said and also those wooden cupboards, lockers etc. It's a great way to find medkits or if you're in a very dire need, first aid kits. Just bandaging the team up after a fight is sufficient enough to keep your mercs alive.

ARULCO IS FREE!!! Smile

Took me quite a long time. I had been playing about a week before I made this thread, and then it's taken me until just now to finish it. And that's playing for many hours every day Razz

In the end though I totally kicked butt. I had 1.6 million dollars in the end lol. I did the whole game with 1 squad and only ever paid people for the full 2 weeks to keep costs down. I sorted the AIM members by marksmanship and had a full team of the best marksmen, and just one healer, Spider. Gave all of them sniper rifles apart from Spider who I gave a machine gun. She did enormous damage with that thing, but most of the time, nobody got close to us without taking 5 bullets to their head.

Healing was easy as pie. I found lots of kits once you start taking out the towns and nearby areas. It was only at the start I was worried a bit, but I just ordered a few and had them delivered to the airport at the north east. In the end, her inventory was full of healing first aid and medical kits Smile Mainly because I just did healing at the hospital. I saved the little boy and some other stuff, so that guy ends up doing healing to your squad for as cheap as possible. In the end it works out sooooo cheap. He was healing all my squad from near death to full for like $1000 or so, and I had 1.6 million so it was nothing. I also found an area which had about 10 LAW's in it so even the last stages of the game were easy and cheap thanks to all that.

About half way though I hired a second squad of just 2 or 3 guys. I had rescued a guy and I found that mad mechanic guy, and I hired a few others and that was my repair crew. I kept them safe in the hospital zone and I met them up with my main squad whenever I needed to repair all their gear.

It was awesome. I kinda felt the final fight should have been harder. She didn't even get a shot off nor did the 2 bodyguards. I also was starting to tire of the constant fighting near the end, after I had freed all the cities and stuff. It became a bit of a grind. Great game though, I wish there will be a modern sequel someday.
