Hello all,

I've been playing JA2 for a while now and really got pulled into it when I downloaded v1.13, and i'd like to start modding stuff to make my game better

Anyway, after I saw the XML editor I decided that it should, in theory, be pretty easy to make some new shotgun ammo's. The first i'm going to try to make is birdshot shells.

I'm going to run through what I THINK needs to be done to get this to work. Any advice if i'm doing something wrong or inefficiently would be appreciated

So here goes:

First I'm going to create a new ammo type under Data -> Ammo -> Types. I'm running vanilla V1.13 so this'll be ammo item 29.

At this point, should I also add the ammo under Data -> Ammo Calibers? I'm unsure of what this data represents, because its just a numbered list of only some of the ammo's repeated twice.

Once that is done, i'm going to add some basic values to the ammo type info, then create new items under the ammo category. I have an image already ready for this, so ill choose it, and then i'll fill in the rest of the info on those tabs.

A question: what does all the info on the NCTH page represent? I know NCTH stands for "New chance to hit", and that is about it with that group of info...

I'll repeat the above for all the different size (2, 4, 7, ect) of ammo, and then... am I done? I can't think of anything else that should be done, asides from playing the game and waiting for it to show up, then playing with it and tweaking the values... again, any help would be appreciated, and thank you to whoever made that beautiful XML editor.

Calibers is just the list of, well, calibers. No need to do anything with that unless you want to add .410 or 20ga.
If you don't use NCTH, you can ignore that tab completely. If you do, you can ignore most of it for ammo, the only interesting fields would be recoil and accuracy modifiers.
Lastly, to make sure the stuff shows up, you should set a valid coolness (1-9), how many bobby stocks and maybe add them to some dealer or merc inventories.
