Hi everyone, my JA2 book was released today. The first half is a history of how it was made, and the second half has some of my analysis on why this is my favorite game. I also dive into the source code a bit.
Here's the main page where you can order a paperback or ebook (mobi, epub, PDF). And here's the Amazon page for the Kindle version.
I've interviewed much of the core dev team, including Ian Currie, Linda Currie, Shaun Lyng, Chris Camfield, and Alex Meduna. I also interview people involved in JA1, and I talk about the trajectory of the game's development--how Sir-tech ended up publishing the series (largely gleaned from interviews with Rob Sirotek).
