I think this was at least brought up once before, but not really taken seriously perhaps because there happened to be some gameplay workarounds for it.
If a character moving in a cinematic has no path to the destination -- the most common example is you happen to move your team such that they block him -- the cinematic is deadlocked and you can only Alt-X to quit. This gets more likely in tight spots, like the doorways and the interior of the rebel base, and with teams of more than 6 members. Might we not provide some escape hatch for such situations?
Examples in order of estimated difficulty (I've only had time to skim the code a little bit):
- Warp the character to the destination, pushing any character already there to the nearest empty spot.
- Character temporarily disables collision with other characters, then paths and walks to destination accordingly.
- Blocking characters walk out of the cinematic character's way.

I experienced this glitch with a large (14+) group of mercs in Omerta East; Fatima could not enter the hideout.
AFS I -think- has a patch to this where Fatima is able to exchange places with one of your mercs (like you would by hovering your cursor over an NPC and pressing X when nearby)
