I have a problem. It so happened that my Militia alone or with my admin mercs seem to have killed Mike in either auto-combat battle or in a manual battle using some RPG or something so quickly, that I haven't even registered that he was there (highly improbable). Fact is that some time earlier in the game I have encountered Mike in a battle, but since the odds were too much (I play on Insane difficulty) I backed off from the sector and decided to take it later with more soldiers. Haven\t seen him since then.

Yet now my game shows all the symptoms of Mike being dead (at least as much as I know about them - but that could maybe be caused by game progression as well) like Iggy being in San Mona bar recruitable and (I guess) Mike's H&K G11 with rod&spring attached dropped in the sector inventory (Chitzena Mine or Western SAM site). I checked the history log, though, and didn't find any record of him being killed unless there is none.

Now my plan was that I wanted to take advantage of 1.13's features and either capture Mike as prisoner, keep him locked and just interrogate him using "extended techniques" :vader: or try to recruit him.

Now none of that seems possible any more.

Could those of you, who know the scripts of this game well, please help me and tell me, how to definitely tell that Mike is gone and won't appear in the game anymore and if this is my case if there is a way to somehow bring him back without replaying the game (all my saves, including the backup ones, are far past the point he probably have died).

I know of no other way than debugging to be sure what the status of Mike or any other NPC is.
You will just have to continue without him or restart.

With the help of a debugger. We use Visual Studio for this purpose. It's the development environment used to code JA2.
If you don't know anything about that then you will have a lot of reading to do if you want to learn how to use it.

Yeah, then I guess I will need to restart and keep the safety saves every 10 days. I wanted to play on Iron-man difficulty anyway.
