Guys, few days ago while moving i found my old copy of JA2 UB. It wasn't even opened. Anyway I started to play the game, and for the life of me, I don't know what to do next. I already taken over the small town, purchased new weapons.
Here are some quick questions.

1- where do i find the missing laptop parts? Do I buy the part, or just have to open every box to find it?

2- I see there is a mine and there is a NPC guarding it, I tried to enter and he blows up the mine, i tried to ask him to join he turned it down. He seems like a nice NPC, so is there no way for him to join up? or should i just kill him and enter the mine?

By the way. I understand you should speak to Betty to fix your laptop. Problem is I spoken to Berry and I even purchased the videos tapes and hired Tex?? and I am running evrsion 1.0.1.

Click on buy/sell to Betty - she has the laptop transmitter for sale.

Re. mine. You have found 'Biggins'. You will only be able to hire him with a merc of high stats - Raider, or the likes.

 For the borken laptop parts you have to buy it from Betty. It's called laptop trasnmiters. Once you buy it, your imp would say something about being able to communicate again and the laptop will be fixed.
As for Higgins, the merc from the mine, you will have to try to recruit him with a merc with high leadership, Manuel for instance. You will also have to have $3500 to hire him, or else he will be pissed and will start blowing up the traps and then attack your party. He is a very good merc, with nigt ops and electronics, with high stats in almost all the attributes. You will have to pay him once $3500 and he will stick with your party for the rest of the campaign without any other payment.

 Hi Guys,

Like eddeb, I have only just installed JA UB. I have made it to the end, but I am wandering around the basement pressing every button I can find, and getting no further on - them big ol' doors just won't open!

Can anyone help me here? (I never did get that laptop fixed - is that a problem?)

It sounds like you haven't made it to the end yet. You need to head upstairs to find the switch that opens those doors. The door that leads to the stairway is in the room at the far right of the sector you are in now.

Yes, I had cleared the upstairs area, but had failed to notice the switch on the wall, due to the mental trauma I suffered getting shot up a treat taking that room!

Now I can continue on, finding new ways to get my favorite mercs mortally injured.

I had, meantime, started a new game and eventually got my laptop repaired - poor old Enrico was having kittens, which was funny, as was the "specials" war between MERC and AIM - but I was bitterly disappointed at the prices Betty gave me for my Flo watches and MERC umbrellas!
