Hi ya Merc's,

Does anyone know where to find a RPG launcher BEFORE going to An Loc Base?

I got tons of RPG7 grenades but no launcher and i'm running out of LAW's and satchel charges. I once found one on the body of a dead VC after assaulting Gow Nih, but i restarted playing shortly after and i did not found it during my current game.

Thanx for any replies!

I think that you cannot find it before An Loc. How can you run out of LAW's? I have huge supply of them and I haven't yet gone to An Loc. BTW. I have completed game ( SOG 69 ) 3 times...

Quite simpel dear JAT, use them for other purposes besides Tank busting *lol* Like crowd dispersion of a angry VC mob Wink

Also use them to help the Regular troops out aswell. For example, in LZ Xray your boys in blue will fire LAW's at anything that moves EXCEPT those frickin'tanks that will blow them to pieces, so scratch 3 LAW's that could be used otherwise.

Like i said, i found one once in Gow Nih but there should be other places to find one i hope?

I think one of the congs in FB Judy fight have an RPG-7 launcher (I heard the distinctive fire sound plus stuff exploding) but he won't drop it. So you have to find a way to get Taylor to steal it before the cong gets killed by your militia. I believe the guy that has it is one of the congs attacking from the northwest.

True, he not only carries it, he uses it aswell *lol* But uhm, are you serious about Taylor stealing it? There are 31 other Congs eager to kill Taylor ya know? And i really don't think it is possible for any merc to sneak up on someone in this AO.

Also, your militia is actually killing Congs? Mine are all becoming victim to Charlies *awesome* markmanship. If not for my Mercs the whole base would be overrun, same goes for An Loc Base and the assault at Gow Nih.

I have playing on the easy setting so the militia actually shoots decently as least till the An Loc firebase.
As to stealing the RPG, some people on this board have the patience and skill to do the mugging. I can't never get that right myself. But I can't assume my lack of skills reflects on your playing ability so I have to throw the suggestion out.
You can always wait till later in the game. Some congs will drop that launcher but it will be trapped up the whazoo with 2 molotov cocktails. Be careful, the RPG will detonate and trigger secondary explosions on those cocktails. If your merc are also carrying that stuff then .... need I say more?

Nah, i don't have the patience to do it, I got the Maddog attitude Wink Shoot first, then shoot some more... Wink

Yeah molotovs and shocks from explosives don't mix very well indeed. If you want some fun toss a satchelcharge amidst a group of Congs carrying molotovs, it's equal to a Arty strike in the destructive department, probably even more lethal.

I don't know about how you guys think about the Militia/Regular Joe's in JA2/JA2UB Vietnam mod. But i think their AI is pretty lame. Lot's of friendly fire and lots of stupid actions doing whatever. I use them for distraction to get in position and when they die they provide me with new goodies Razz.

If you're lucky you can get yerself a nice M16 and a L1A1 rifle at Gow Nih. And if you have grenadiers like i do you need that M16 bad to replace that CAR15, which, by the time of Gow Nih is completely worthless even with a sniperscope, but the only gun able to carry a M203.

if you still want that RPG7 launcher but have something against stealing (religious feelings, general clumsiness etc) there is one in C15. there is more useful stuff there, but it took Gasket three days to open the boxes, so better send somebody else...
