Alright, I'm in a bit of a dilemma. Magic is one of my favorite mercs, but in this mod (or maybe just UB), he costs around $42,000. So, I was wondering if anyone who's played this mod more times through than I have knows where to get more cash from.
So far, I'll rake in anywhere from $400-600 when taking over various villages or caches, and one of the biggest sources of greenbacks is gunning down Dai ("GI, JOO DIE NAAOWW!!!")... are there any more special NPCs I might've missed, that I could kill for cash?
Bah... I can't believe Magic's bastard-ass costs more than Tarballs, this time around.

it's been a while, but if i remember there's not all that much cash to be found (never bothered me much since i only play with 4 mercs) besides what you mentioned
you can make bunch of $$ by selling all sorts of junk to Betty-
most $/item is stuff like platinum watch, t-52-3 armor, medi kits, lockpick kits, rice, steel helmets, combat knives, cigars...

Yeah, money should not be such a problem. You get 4 mercs for free so you can hire 1 or 2 top mercs from AIM. In my opinion you should indeed not play this mod with more then 6 men. You are afterall a SOG Team, not a platoon of regular grunts.
I myself usually hire Stogie, Cougar and Gaston and add Spooky, Ruiz and Taylor to them later (no IMP). Or hire Gus or Magic and my Camo/Auto Weapons IMP. Then i have Spooky, Tex and my IMP as scouts/snipers and Ruiz, Taylor and Sarge as my grunt work squad.
You will have somewhere between 3000 and 7000 dollars left and you you will find, say, another 2000 in the game. So you can hire some cheaper AIM Mercs if you want to later on.
