Hi,
the old problem again. I don't know what to, how to start. What am I supposed to do what's the motivation behind all this? The history-logs just say "AAAA" so I went to the first village, talked to the major - I think a new history-log appeared then - did he give my a mission? Went further to the base, recruited sarge, ruiz and taylor, but what next?
I know the subject of the readme/manual was posted before but none of the links for the readme are working anymore. So the big question is, does anyone know a working link or maybe still has the readme and can send it to me?
I hope someone is still reading this ...

There are some .htm files that come with the mod. They should be on your hard drive. Look in the game directory under Data\Campaigns\Vietnam SOG '69\Briefings.

Hi,

I don't have that folder (yet?) - could it be, that it comes with the manual archive(I read it contains a file dossier.zip)? I searched the whole install folder for *.txt or *.htm - no results : (

OK. It has been a long time since I installed this mod, but I dug out the CD-R where I had the downloads saved; and you are apparently correct that the read me file was a separate download. Fortunately, I still have it and can e-mail it to you if you'll tell me where to send it (it's 420KB).

I think I just sent it. If it didn't go through, let me know, and I'll try again (I used Hotmail, and I'm not used to sending attachments with it).

Call me stupid, I read through the briefing, and was all ready to go, but can't seem to find any of these 'clues' I'm meant to be finding. I retrieved the Golden Buddha for Hannigan, and have my trusty radio. What now? Are there any other NPCs I should talk to apart from Trang and the 2 Generals?

I think the item descriptions tell you to open some zip files or something?

I got that idea, but what items? I've been to basically every sector and have seen nothing out of the ordinary.

I think I'll just start from the beginning and take it more slowly....

I can't remember which items, but they do have a password for the zipped sector files in the item descriptions.
a relevant thread (mostly)

Hi,
fist of all, sorry if I'm a bit vague about the quests, but I'm at work right now and can't access my saved games to be more detailed. If you wish I can post more specific details (i.e. sectors)in a couple of hours.

First of all: the dossier1.zip contains nothing really important, it's just some background info for better rpg - nonetheless it's a nice supplemental.

Concerning the quests: I think basicly you are supposed to explore simply all of the sectors (or most of them), this way the game will unfold by itself. Nonetheless there are a couple of quests people can give you, but sometimes a high leadership seems to be requierd for this to happen (I for myself got only one quest the "offical" way). But all the quests can be solved, regardless of this by simple returning the items to the npc's.
Following is a more detailed description of the quests:

SPOILERS COMING!

For all these quests you have to take one of the helis at the first base (that one with hannigan, southern sector) to get to the area containing fb george. (the budda quest can be done without taking the heli)

- get medical supplies for village chief (trang):
he never actually gave my the quest, but the med supps are located underground in the village at the southern middle part of the map.
Give them to him and he'll give you an item, which description gives you the password for the dossier1.zip.

- get the fb george report:
not hannigan, but the other commander wants you to retrieve the fb george report. there's a threat here somewhere that descripes how to do that.

- get/find lt. Stoners lighter:
never got a "real" quest for this either, but his lighter can be found in an underground sector, it has his name inscripted.

- find the nva map pack:
never got the quest for this from anyone, but the map pack can be found in a village at the far east (and middle? - not sure about that, you have to cross the river to reach it though) in some large storehouse - that is if you have patched the game, wich I highly recommend. the items desc contains the password for the g11.zip in the game folder. unzipping it and restarting the game lets you then access sector g11, where a heli awaits to take you to the an loc base to continue the game from here.

Here are the exact sectors:

NVA Map: H15
Med Supplies: P7 underground
Lighter: 012 underground (entrance is in O11!)
